Check of serviceability of functioning of the steering column switch

The design of the steering column switch assembly and identification card the terminals of its connector

Using an ohmmeter / lamp probe check the distribution of conductivity between socket contacts assembly in different positions of switches.

Switch the mode of functioning of navigation lights

Selecting the mode of operation of navigation lights is carried out by means of a rotary knob mounted on the end of the arm of the left column stalk (see chap. Controls and operation receptions) and has three fixed positions: OFF (off), TAIL (parking lights) and HEAD (Lights). Ensure proper distribution of conductivity between plugs ?? 15, 5 and 10 (model SRS) / A1, A2, B2, B3 and B5 (model without SRS) connector assembly in each of the shift positions (see. Table). Replace the faulty assembly.

Switch the mode of functioning headlights

Select one of three modes of operation is carried out with the help of headlamps left arm stalk (see chap. Controls and operation receptions). Ensure proper distribution of conductivity between plugs ?? 17, 16, 7 and 12 (model SRS) / A1, A2, B2, B3, B4 and B5 (model without SRS) connector assembly in each of the full-time shift positions: LOW BEAM (low beam), HIGH BEAM (beam) and FLASH (Alarm beam) (see. table). Replace the faulty assembly.

Turn signal switch

Management of functioning of the direction indicators is also carried out using the lever of the left column stalk (see chap. Controls and operation receptions). Using an ohmmeter, verify the correctness of distribution of conductivity between plugs ?? 2, 11 and 6 (model SRS) / D8, D4 and D7 (model without SRS) connector assembly in each of the full-time shift positions: LEFT TURN (left turn) , NEUTRAL (neutral) and RIGHT TURN (right turn) (see. table). Replace the faulty assembly.

The switches control the functioning of cleaners / washers of a windscreen

Management and operation of the front wipers feed on the windshield washer fluid is carried out with the help of the right stalk (see chap. Controls and operation receptions). Using the ohmmeter to verify the correctness of the distribution of conductivity between terminals ?? 3, 13, 9, 18, 8 and 4 (model SRS) / C5, C6, C2, C4, C3 and C1 (model no SRS) connector assembly in each of full-time shift positions (see. table). Replace the faulty assembly.
