General information and precautions

Before servicing electrical system components on-board read the safety rules when working with electrical appliances!

The car is equipped with 12-volt on-board power supply system grounding of the negative pole. The power supply to the lighting and other consumers from a battery lead-acid type, which is produced by charging alternator.

This chapter describes the procedures for repair and maintenance of electrical components mounted on a vehicle and having no direct connection to the engine, - the information service of such units, as the battery, ignition system components, alternator and starter, see Chapter Systems of an electric motor, dedicated electrical system of the engine.

Before servicing electrical components of the board, in order to avoid electric shock or fire due to short circuit, disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Regularly check the condition of wiring harness and tightened them in intermediate clamps, collars and trim. Make sure that the wire insulation is not to wipe on the location of nearby components.

Considered in this manual car models can be equipped with additional safety (SRS). Before proceeding with any work near the airbag modules, steering column and instrument panel, disconnect SRS to avoid injury due to accidental operation of the gas generator - wiring of chain SRS is easy for distinguishing on yellow color of isolation!
