Replace the oil filter bypass

Diesel engines up to 9/89 MY. have a bypass oil filter. It is located on the tube, screwed to the oil pan.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Unscrew the oil filter. The oil filter is looking in the direction of movement, behind the engine block. To loosen the filter there is a special tool, for example, HAZET 2172. You can also score in the side of the filter sharp screwdriver. This will drain the oil - substitute container.
  1. Clean the oil filter flange on the cylinder block fuel. Remove the filter gasket.
  1. Lightly coat the rubber gasket on the engine oil filter.
  2. Screw the new filter by hand. When the filter gasket is adjacent to the cylinder block, tighten the filter clamping tape for another 4/3 turn. Follow the instructions on the filter.

Pouring

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Pour the new oil into the filler neck of the cylinder head cover. Then, check the oil level dipstick.
  2. Screw the filler cap.

It is recommended to first pour 1/2 liter of oil is less warm up the engine a few minutes to check the oil level dipstick, add oil if necessary. Excess oil must be pumped out, or may be damaged or gaskets engine catalyst.

  1. After the test drive, check the tightness of the drain plug and oil filter, if necessary, gently pull up.
  2. Stop the engine is warm and in 2 minutes again to check the oil level, top up if necessary.
  1. The difference between the upper and lower mark -F- mark -L- is about 0.8 liters. The oil level should always be between the two marks.

Never fill above the -F-. Too much oil may damage the catalyst during operation.

  1. To better control the dynamic characteristics of the engine when changing the oil, use always the same type and the same brand as possible. Therefore, it is advisable at every oil change to fix the engine plate, which specifies oil grade and viscosity.
  2. Wanton use of different types of oils adversely. Motor oils of the same type, but different brands as possible should not be mixed. Oils same type and grade but with different viscosities can be mixed with each other by changing seasons.
