Drain sediment of the fuel filter of the diesel engine / replacing the fuel filter

Special tools are not required.

Must be purchased the following spare parts:

  • Injection engines: 2 pads of copper.
  • Fuel filter for the corresponding engine. When buying reporting year of manufacture and model of the car.

Diesel engine

Drain sediment / replacing the fuel filter

To collect the sludge needs a suitable vessel.

Diesel spillage must be removed immediately with a rubber parts (hoses, coolant), otherwise over time the rubber parts will be destroyed.

Drain sediment

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Place a suitable bath under the drain fitting.
  1. Loosen the drain bolt hand about one turn.
  2. Hand pump to pump (approximately 7 times) until, until it begins leaving unmixed diesel.
  3. Tighten the bolt by hand removal of sludge.
  4. After draining the sludge from the fuel system must be vented.

Replacement filter

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. If there is, turn off the plug of the level sensor sludge.
  1. Loosen the adjusting screw -strelka- clamp fastening of the fuel filter.
  2. Unscrew the fuel filter from the holder of a special key and remove it.
  3. If present, unscrew the sludge level sensor for water pump pliers, insert and screw it into the new filter.
  1. Coat the new seal with diesel fuel and install it.
  1. Fill to the brim with diesel particulate filter and screw by hand.
  2. Remove air from the fuel system.
  3. After making a test drive check tightness of fuel system.

Removal of air from fuel system

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Loosen the bolt of removal of air.
  1. Hand pump to pump up until a bolt protruding from the vent fuel air bubbles disappear.
  2. Tighten the bolt while pressing the manual pump.
  3. Bleed hand pump (about 15 times) up until resistance is felt when pressed.
  4. Include preheat and then start the engine.
  5. If the engine does not start pumping should be repeated.
  6. Visually inspect the fuel system for leaks, especially the connection of the fuel filter.

Carbureted engines

Fuel is located in the engine compartment in the fuel supply line. To turn off the supply and return piping need 2 clips. You can use the two clamps.

Withdrawal

Do not work near open flames. Flammable!

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect earth cable from the battery.

This data is erased from the memory of malfunctions of the engine or a protective code of a radio receiver. Before disconnecting the battery should read instructions in Section Removal and installation of the battery.

  1. Clamp supply and return lines before and after the fuel filter clamps.
  2. Loosen the hose clamps and disconnect the tubing from the filter.
  1. Remove the fuel filter.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Wear lines on the new filter and secure clips. The arrow on the filter indicates the direction of the flow of fuel.
  2. Remove the clips.
  3. Connect the earth cable to the battery.
  4. If available, set the clock and set the security code radio.
  5. After a test drive to check for leaks.

Engines with system of injection

When removing the fuel filter will flow more fuel for its collection requires a suitable vessel. For overlap of fuel will need two rubber stoppers.

Withdrawal

Do not work near open flames. Flammable!

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Reduce fuel pressure.
  2. Disconnect earth cable from the battery.

This data is erased from the memory of malfunctions of the engine or a protective code of a radio receiver. Before disconnecting the battery should read instructions in Section Removal and installation of the battery.

  1. Place a suitable container under the fuel filter.
  1. Slowly remove the lower fuel line, after loosening the clamp. Close the conduit with a rubber stopper.
  1. Writing a fuel flow into a vessel.
  2. Unscrew the upper connecting bolt and to remove the fuel from the 2 -mya gaskets.
  3. Release the fuel filter out of the bracket.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Insert the fuel filter bracket.
  2. Install the upper connecting bolt with 2 washers and tighten.
  3. Remove the cap from the bottom of the pipeline, connect and fix its collar.
  4. Connect the earth cable to the battery.
  5. If available, set the clock and set the security code radio.
  6. Connect the fuel pump connector.
  7. Install the rear seat. See Section Rear seat.
  8. After a test drive to check for leaks.
