Replacement of spark plugs / check the electrical contacts

It takes a special tool:

  • Candlestick key.
  • Additionally, it is recommended to buy a special tongs, for example, HAZET 1849 to facilitate the removal of the spark.

Must be purchased the following parts:

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect all the spark, thus it is necessary to pull the plug, not the cord. The above facilitate the removal of the forceps.
  2. Blow out the candles niche compressed air that, when taken in candlelight holes could be dirty.
  3. Remove the spark plug wrench, and check the status of candles (appearance). With some experience you can from this draw conclusions about the state of the engine:

Electrodes and insulators

Average gray - the correct operation of the Sich ignition quality of the mixture

Black - mixture too rich

Light gray - is too lean

Zamasleny - disruptions in the corresponding candle or poor insulation of piston rings (check compression).

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check insulators candles on the surface leakage currents. Surface currents are left on the surface of a thin, uneven tracks. You may need to replace leaking tips candles.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Before installation, check the distance between the electrodes by a feeler gauge.
  1. In new spark distance between the electrodes, as a rule, is installed correctly. See Chapter Ignition system, Section Candles for your MAZDA 323.
  1. To adjust the distance between the contacts must bend the electrode mass. For this purpose there is a simple, practical adaptation, otherwise knock on the electrode mass. When podgibaniem rest against a small screwdriver into the thread of candles, in any case not in the center electrode, as otherwise it will be damaged.
  1. Clean the threads on the plugs with a clean cloth.
  2. Screw in the spark plug by hand until it is tight to the cylinder head.

Candles with no skew.

  1. Tighten the spark plug with a torque of 20 Nm.

If there is no torque wrench, tighten the new spark plugs spark plug wrench by 90 ? (1/4 turn). Used to tighten the spark only at 15 ?. If tightened too much when unscrewing the spark may break or damage the threads in the cylinder head. In this case, repair the thread repair inserts UTC or Heli - Coil.

  1. Connect the spark plug according to the order 1-3-4-2.
  2. Check tightness of cables and the spark plugs.

Check electrical connectors

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check tightness of all electrical connections to the ignition coil.
  2. Cracked terminals replaced.
  3. Clean the corroded contacts with a wire brush or sandpaper, if necessary, spray the spray contacts.
  4. Contacts should not be wet, otherwise clean contact and spray spray contacts.
  5. Bend the ignition cables to check for cracks. If necessary, replace the cables plug.
