Check belt / tension / replace the timing belt
Checking the V-belt Special tools are not required. Necessary spare parts: - 1 V-belt. The length depends on the type of engine. Consider this when buying. Too low tension leads to increased wear or failure of the belt. Too high tension can cause bearing damage respective units.
V-belt should be replaced if: excessive wear, frayed sidewalls, traces of oil, cracks, breaks the cross. Check the belt tension, the tension and replace belt, see. Replacing the toothed belt Since the work done incorrectly can cause serious engine damage, care must be taken up operations. Replacing the toothed belt is described in Chapter Gasoline engines.
