6-cylinder engine



The cylinder head disassembled only when the engine cooling. Intake and exhaust manifolds are connected.

Faulty seal can be identified by a number of grounds.

Withdrawal
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the air filter.
2. Drain the coolant from the housing and also the crankshaft.
3. Disconnect hoses heating and coolant from the cylinder head by loosening the pre-hose clamps.
4. Disconnect the battery ground cable (-).
A warning

This erased anti-theft radio code. See. Instructions for removing the battery on the heading.


5. Set the first cylinder of the engine in the ignition TDC. To do this, move the transmission to idle and apply the parking brake. Rotate the crankshaft to match the markings with a wrench SW27 with a nozzle at the central bolt crankshaft pulley in the direction of rotation of the engine, ie. E. Clockwise.
6. Pull the locking protrusion ring fan shroud. Turn the trim in the direction of the arrow "open" and remove.
7. Remove the cylinder head cover.
8. Remove the chain tensioner.
A warning

Chain tensioner must be removed, because when removing the top of the tire automatically sips ratchet. This may result in excessive chain tension.


9. Remove the hot fluid recirculation conduit (25) from the closure cover (28), if available.
10. Disconnect shtekkernye connection camshaft position sensor.
11. Remove the tensioning pulley damper on the front cover, push down and turn. Track adjacent washer, be sure to install it for reassembly.
12. Remove the screws (arrow) of the front cover. Remove the cover bolts (c).
13. Remove the screws (d) recirculator coolant, if any.
14. Mark the position of the gear of the camshaft with respect to the control circuit via pen or paint.
15. Loosen the screws (3) the vent wheel (1), if any.
A warning

The bolt has a left-hand thread, twisted to the right.


16. Remove the parts together with the support (2).
17. Pull the ejector fingers guide rails or other suitable tool.
18. Remove the anchor controller camshaft.
19. Remove the set of wires going to the motor, namely, all the wiring connections to loosen and remove with shtekkernymi compounds.
20. Disconnect the cruise control mechanism, if any.
21. Disconnect shtekkernoe connection in place of the connector (X26 / 17). Disconnect shtekkernoe compound actuator electronic accelerator pedal (16 / 1x1), which press the locking latch (arrow). When this plug is rotated via the spiral spring 90 ?�. Remove the wiring in the engine of the cable channel.
22. Remove the front exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.
23. Remove the air intake hose (1) on the cylinder head.
24. Disconnect the hose from the air intake check valve (arrow), remove the holder.
25. Remove the guide tube holder dipstick and support inlet tube (arrow).
26. Remove the ventilation hose (43) of the crankshaft from the crankcase of the combined support (17).
27. Briefly open the cap of the fuel tank in order to reduce unnecessary pressure. Then, remove the fuel lines (arrows).
28. Remove the vacuum hose (2) from the drain inlet pipe.
29. Disconnect a cable of the throttle (30) of the throttle tube.
30. With automatic transmission: unscrew from the cylinder head of the rod guide tube measure the oil level.
31. Remove a key from the nozzle, for example, HAZET 990SLg-12, the cylinder head bolts in the reverse order to the numbering in the figure, ie. E. From 14 to 1. The cylinder 1 is in the side of the ventilation motor.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before installing the cylinder head and cylinder clean the sealing surfaces of remains of sealant suitable scraper. Make sure that no remnants of sealant into the holes. Close the hole with a cloth.
2. Check the steel ruler flatness of the cylinder head and engine block in the longitudinal and transverse directions, if necessary, modify the (work for repair shops).
3. Check the cylinder head for the absence of scratches, and the working surface of the cylinder - the lack of scratches.
4. Thoroughly clean the bolt holes of the cylinder head of the oil and other deposits.
5. Always replace the gasket cylinder head.
6. Put a new gasket without sealant so as not to have closed the hole.
7. Before installing the cylinder head check whether the camshafts in TDC. In this position, the pins can be set (1) having a diameter of 4 mm from directly above the upper edge of the cylinder head of the camshaft gear flanges. Crankshaft is also yet to be set to TDC.
8. Install the cylinder head.
A warning

The cylinder head is fixed mounting studs in the engine block.


9. Measure the length of the cylinder head bolts from the bottom of the bolt head, which is a new installation of a length of 160 mm. With a length of 162.7 mm, replace the bolts.
10. Lubricate the threads of the cylinder head and place the bolt heads fit. Install the bolts and tighten them by hand.
11. Tighten the bolts in the cylinder head in sequence from the first to the 14th in three stages. First, tighten the bolts with a torque wrench to 55 Nm At the second stage, all the bolts 10 tighten 1 to 90 ?� spanner. On the third - tighten the bolts on a 1 to 10 for 90 ?� spanner.

A warning

Carefully tighten the cylinder head bolts. Before tightening, check the accuracy of the torque wrench.

When tightening the bolts to evaluate the rotational angle position of the engine along the wrench handle and turn in one motion until the handle is positioned across the motor.


12. Place the control circuit for the camshaft gear, respecting put at dismantling labeling.
13. Remove pins 4 mm diameter flanges camshafts.
14. Connect the coolant hose to pump coolant hose and secure with tape.
15. Attach the wire throttle control and adjust it.
16. Connect the cruise control mechanism, if any.
17. Automatic gearbox: Screw the guide tube for dipstick rear cylinder head.
18. Screw together upstream and downstream piping fuel pinch where they connect.
19. Screw the vacuum pipe for brake booster to the intake pipe. Slide the ventilation hose crankcase to the combined support and fix with a hose clamp.
20. Screw the holder of the guide tube and the oil level gauge support inlet tube.
21. Install the air intake duct for connection to a hose from the cylinder head. Between the pipes and the cylinder head using a new O-ring.
22. Put the electric plug for the engine wiring sets and route in the cable channel. Install the connector wires.
23. Screw the anchor to the control cam.
24. Screw with a torque of 35 Nm the branch circuit with a support gear, if any (left-hand thread).
25. Insert the motor block fingers guide rails.
26. To seal in a low-fat groove lid control unit to the left and right at the junction (arrow) from the cylinder head, respectively, apply sealant to points, Mercedes-N001 9896120. Instead, you can also use other sealant, for example, Omnifit FD 10 or Curil.
27. Put in a new low-fat groove seal without sealant. The front cover in places of its fit to the cylinder head cover sealing 002 989 00 20. 10
28. Install the front cover with inserted bottom bolt (e). Tighten the lower bolts of the first with a torque of 20 Nm
29. Screw the control device camshafts, thread bolts (f) hermetic seal, for example, Curil.
30. Apply engine oil to the radial sealing ring and put on a camshaft. In order not to damage the O-ring on the edge of the pre-okleyte ribbons connecting the camshaft, remove the tape after the installation of a sealing ring. Specialized workshops instead of a lead-collar diameter of 20 mm.
31. Screw the top tensioner damper gasket.
32. Screw the coolant recirculator, if available.
33. Attach the power plugs to the position sensor and controller camshafts.
34. Install chain tensioner.
35. Install the fan shroud ring, turn it and fix.
36. Install the cylinder head cover.
37. Connect the plug with the spark plug ignition coils.
38. Install the air filter.
39. Screw the exhaust pipe to a collector.
40. Connect the coolant hoses to the cylinder head and secure with clamps.
41. Fill the coolant.
42. Connect the battery.
43. Set the clock.
44. Set the anti-theft code for the radio.
45. Warm up the engine to operating temperature and check the tightness of all connections.
