Check and replacement of the power transistor (models 1993 and 1994 issue.)

The power transistor is one of the fragile and rather expensive components. Violation of the proposed execution order following the procedures can result in failure of the PCM. Remember that all the managed RSM components subject to additional federal guarantee certificates - before attempting self-perform maintenance or replacement of components in the Executive branch, consult the manufacturer of the vehicle.

CHECK

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
If installed on the car stereo is equipped with a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!

2. Disconnect the wiring from the power transistor.

3. Connect the positive probe ohmmeter to terminal A connector, negative - to the terminal B. The device should register conductivity presence. Change the polarity of the ohmmeter - this time reading should be infinite.

REPLACEMENT

PERFORMANCE ORDER

2. Disconnect the wiring from the power transistor.

3. Remove the bolt transistor mounting bracket to the cylinder head.

4. Remove the two screws on the support of the carburetor. Replace the bracket new transistor.
5. The further installation is made in the reverse order of dismantle of components.
