CHECKING AND ADJUSTING

The distributor with the contact breaker

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The design of the contact breaker distributor is shown in the accompanying illustration.
2. Before adjustment is necessary to check the status of contacts. With slight scorching contacts should be cleaned with fine sandpaper, in the case of visible defects - replace.
3. Cleaning the contacts made with a diamond needle files small thickness. Try to achieve absolute parallelism of the mating surfaces. Convexity of single contact should be eliminated completely, choosing the grooves on the other. Upon completion of the stripping, wipe the contacts with a cloth soaked in gasoline.
4. Among the main reasons for the strong burning of contacts are the fault of the capacitor, loosening of the fixed contact or reason ground breaker. Be sure to check the quality of the ground pins on the weight of the engine.
5. Turn the crankshaft so that there was a complete combination of contacts and measure the gap between them. Compare result of measurement to requirements of Specifications, if necessary, loosen the fixing screw and displacement contact with a screwdriver until you get the desired value.
6. Tighten the screw and repeat the test.
7 is now necessary to check the length of the closed state of the contacts (according to the angle of rotation of the crankshaft). Prepare a special meter between the negative terminal of the ignition coil and ground. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature. Adjust the idle speed.
8. Disconnect vacuum hose from the vacuum regulator assembly and make a measurement of the angle of your stay breaker contacts in the closed state. The desired value of 52 ?� (the angle of rotation of the crankshaft). If necessary, make appropriate adjustment by adjusting the gap between the contacts.
9. To reduce the clearance angle should be increased to increase - decrease. For the different models of the required value of the angle of the closed condition of contacts of the breaker can be different from the range of 49 ?� ÷ 55 ?�.
10. In parallel, the contact breaker switched capacitor, which together with the primary winding of the ignition coil forms an oscillation circuit. At the time of opening the circuit self-inductance capacitor charging current of the primary winding, which increases the rate of decrease of the magnetic flux, i.e. increasing the voltage in the secondary winding. Absorption self-inductance current at break circuit reduces sparking between the contacts of the breaker, whereby the reliability of the system greatly increases.
11. Breakdowns capacitor lead to disruption and disturbance of the ignition circuit HB. Symptom capacitor are disruptions in the operation of the engine and a significant scorching contacts of the breaker.
12. To check the capacitor should be made measurement of its capacity, but you can also use conventional tester put it to measure high resistance. If the needle is sharply rejected, and then gradually returns to its original position, therefore, the capacitor is functioning properly. Zero or continuously decreasing reading indicates the need to replace the condenser
13. There is one easy way to check the status of the condenser: if the ignition is switched manually open the breaker contacts - If the spark is formed, then the capacitor is damaged.
14. Do not leave the ignition switched on when the engine is stopped. If at the time the ignition is switched breaker contacts are in the closed state (the probability of such a situation is quite high), resulting in a strong heating of flowing current may occur releasing spring hammer interrupter with loss of its elasticity. Thus at high speeds spring stops to ensure the sharpness of contact closure with the required frequency. As a result, there are disruptions in the operation of the engine, which is usually accompanied by clapping in the exhaust system.
15. Lack of clearance at the contacts of the breaker is shown in the misfire mode deseleratsii. Likewise manifested loose distributor, HB circuit pin connectors, as well as a contact in the ignition switch).
16. Reducing the gap in contacts on 0.01 mm corresponds to the change (increase) in the duration of the closed condition of contacts 1 degree.
17. The increase in the gap in the contact breaker leads to disruption of the stability of the high-revving engine.


Distributor transistor ignition system

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The design of the distributor of ignition of transistor system is shown in the illustration.
2. By way of this service distributor periodically check and adjust the air gap signal generator.
3. Remove the cover and the slider valve. Rotate the crankshaft so that was the combination of the signal rotor tooth with the projection of the signal generator and measure the gap between them with a feeler gauge blade type. Nominal range of 0.2 ÷ 0.4 mm.
4. To adjust the clearance, loosen the two fixing screws and turn the signal generator in the appropriate direction, then tighten the screws.
5. Before installing the slider and cover also check the status of the segments of the cover and the central electrode. If necessary, replace.
6. To disassemble the distributor remove it from the vehicle. Remove the slider and the plastic dust shield. Remove the sealing ring from the rim of the housing. Remove the two fixing screws and remove assemblage of a signal generator with electrical wiring.
7. Remove the retaining screw, and release the latch lever and remove assemblage of the vacuum regulator.
8. Remove the two screws and remove the plate breaker.
9. Mark the installation position of the spring knob and remove them from the assembly.
10. Remove the slinger from the top of the rotor, unscrew the retaining screw and remove the signal rotor.
11. Mark the installation position of snap rings and weights centrifugal regulator, remove components.
12. Clean the parts and check their condition. Replace defective parts.

13. With a significant deterioration of the driving gear shaft of the distributor or drank themselves cut off saw off the end of the locking pin, then secure unit and knock out the pin.

14. Installation is the reverse order. When installing the gear shaft achieve combination holes of the bearing and the housing, install the shaft and screw the two screws.
15. Achieve combination of the pin holes in the gear and shaft. Drive in a new pin, and saw off the ends. Ensure registration marks on the gears and the signal rotor.

16. Lightly lubricate the shaft regulator pure impellent oil, place it on a signal rotor and achieve combination of labels with a locking pin.

17. Install the weights with ball bearings, retaining rings fix components.

Weights should be established strictly on the former places. Set on the former places spring centrifugal regulator.

18. Replace and tighten the screw of the signal rotor. Tamp lubrication groove, install the slinger (cap). Replace the breaker plate. Install the assembly of the vacuum interrupter.
19. Set the signal generator, screw, but do not tighten until the end, the fixing screws. Achieve combination of tooth signal generator rotor projection, adjust the value of the gap, and then tighten the screws.
20. Install the dust screen, the sealing ring and the slider valve. Install the valve on the engine.

The seal ring must get into the groove on the receiving end of the distributor.

21. Check the operation of the vacuum corrector, which create a vacuum at its inlet aperture with a hand vacuum pump - control lever must be moved when the depth of the vacuum.

REMOVAL

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.

If installed on the car stereo is equipped with a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!

2. At a corresponding complete set remove the shield cover of the distributor. Please note that the terminal connection wire candle of the first cylinder on a distributor cover labeled serving as a digital label 1.

Some dispensers such tags may not be provided.

3. Disconnect from the distributor of the main electrical connector and pin ground.
4. Uncover the distributor (see chap. Adjustment and routine maintenance). Crank the engine for the crankshaft pulley bolt so that the slider of the distributor turned toward the terminal position of the first cylinder spark plug wires on the lid (see. Section Reduction of the piston of the first cylinder in position of the top dead center (TDC)).
5. Coat the rim of the body of the distributor spout slider position marker. Also mark the position of the base case of the distributor with respect to the surface of the cylinder head.

6. Remove the clamp mounting bolt and remove the distributor assembly of the cylinder head.

Try to avoid turning the engine to remove the distributor, as thus deposited in the process of dismantling the components marking lose meaning.

INSTALLATION

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Install the valve on the regular place in the cylinder head. Ensure registration deposited in the process of dismantling the landing labels.
2. for engaging the drive gear shaft of a camshaft and the distributor may need to slightly rotate the housing assembly. Ensure completeness landing distributor in the head. Again, make sure of correctness of combination of landing labels.

If you remove the distributor carried cranking, should again lead the engine to the position TDC (see. Section Reduction of the piston of the first cylinder in position of the top dead center (TDC)).

3. Freely screw clamping bolt distributor.
4. Install the distributor cap and tighten the screws of its fastening.
5. Connect the wiring harness to the distributor.
6. If removed, connect the wires of explosives to their respective plugs.
7. Connect the negative cable to the battery.
8. Check if the ignition timing, if necessary, make appropriate adjustment (see. Section Check and adjust ignition timing settings), and then tighten the clamping bolt of the distributor. At a corresponding complete set shield the distributor cap.
