Plastic items
With ever increasing use of plastic parts in the automotive industry (e.g., bumpers, mud flaps, and in some cases, the basic elements of structure) repair serious damages of such elements is a matter of such work instructions skilled in the art or the replacement of the element in its entirety.
Repair of the body element in the repair shop is not very profitable because of the high cost of equipment and materials necessary for the repair.
The technology is based on the creation of a groove in the plastic line cracks using a rotary file, inserted into an electric drill. Damaged parts are then welded together using a heat gun, is used for heating and fusing the plastic filler rod in the groove. Excess plastic was then removed and the entire area is treated to obtain a flat and smooth surface.
It is important to use the correct filling grade plastic rod, since the elements of the body may be made of any type of plastic (such as polycarbonate, ABS, polypropylene). Damage lesser significance (attrition, small cracks, etc.) can be removed in the repair shop using epoxy repair mortar, which consists of two components. If they are mixed in equal proportions, the solution is used to repair body similar to using filler metal surfaces. The filler is usually cured for 20-30 minutes and is ready for processing and dyeing cloth. If you own a car enthusiast is replacing all elements of the body or repair it with an epoxy solution, then it will have a problem finding the ink, which would be compatible with the type of plastic.
Using universal paints is impossible due to the large number of different types of plastic from which the body parts are made. Common types of paints, generally speaking, will not stick to plastic or rubber is good enough.
However, there is now an opportunity to purchase a kit for the final stage of processing of plastic, which includes the pretreatment of plastic surfaces, the composition for primary and multicolored compositions for applying the last layer.
The full list of instructions for use are usually attached to the kit, but in general, a method of using it comprises applying the composition on a pre-treated surface and then waiting for 30 minutes, drying it.
Then, a primary composition, and it is given time to dry for about one hour before the final layer is applied to a color composition. The result is a dyed in the desired color component body on which the ink clings to the rubber or plastic surfaces. Ordinary paint such benefits does not.
