Priming and painting of body

Before you begin any of the procedures described in this section, read the subsection on the elimination of dents (see. Subsection 13.3.2), scratching (see. Subsection 13.3.1), rust and cracking (see. Subsection 13.3.3) .

There are many types of primer, but, generally speaking, the best fit kits comprising a container with a primer and a tube of toothpaste with a hardener. For flat and smooth surfaces just need a flexible plastic or nylon swab.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Knead a small amount of primer onto a clean piece of cardboard - add exactly the amount of hardener, which is necessary (follow manufacturer's instructions primer), otherwise the primer hardens too quickly or, on the contrary, very soon.
2. Using a shaving brush, apply a primer on the prepared surface; Spend Pomazkov of primer for leveling the surface and distribution of primer on the desired area.
3. Once all the required area will be covered with primer, stop priming.
4. If you are primed for too long, it will thicken and stick to the swab.
5. Continue to apply layers of primer at 20 minute intervals until such time as the primer surface will not be just above the level of the surrounding surface.
6. Once the primer has hardened, excess primer can be removed with a file.
7. Next, you must use a more fine sandpaper surface treatment. Always wrap the sandpaper around a flat rubber or wooden blocks - otherwise the surface is not completely flat.
8. In the final stages of processing the surface of the primer, the paper must be periodically washed in water. This will provide a very smooth polishing.
9. At this stage, the primed surface must be surrounded by a ring of pure metal, which in turn must be surrounded by a lip good paint. Rinse repair area with clean water to wash away any dust formed as a result of polishing.
10. Cover the entire area with a thin layer of paint control - it will show all errors and irregularities of the surface putty.
11. Remove the unevenness by applying a new layer of primer. Again, treat the surface cloth putty. Repeat this procedure for the application control layer of paint and primer as long as you are happy with the surface of the primer, and it will not be flush with the surrounding painted surface.
12. Clean the repair area with clean water and allow the surface to dry.
13. If you use a primer, it is recommended to mix it with cellulose solvent to form a very thin paste, which is ideal for filling small holes.
14. Field repair is now ready for the final step - painting. Paint application should be done in a dry, warm atmosphere without drafts and dust. These conditions are easy to fit, if you work in the studio, but if you work outdoors, you have to be very careful in the choice of the day for painting.
15. If you work in the room, the floor covering areas with water will help you get rid of dust, which otherwise would have remained in the air.
16. If the repair area is limited to one of the elements of the car body, protecting the elements from getting paint on them; This will help minimize the effect of light differences in the color of paint. Trim parts and other parts (such as chrome strips, door handles, etc.) also must be closed. Use duct tape and several layers of newspaper to cover adjoining surfaces.
17. Before proceeding to the painting, thoroughly shake the spray paint, then apply a coat of paint on the control surface (the old bank, for example) as long as the equipment did not work paint.
18. Cover the repair area with a thick layer of paint original; required thickness should be achieved by consistently applying thin layers of paint rather than one thick layer.
19. Using very fine sandpaper treat the surface of the original painting, until it is very flat and smooth. Thus, the work area should be thoroughly rinsed with water, as well as skins. Allow the previous layer of paint to dry before a coat of paint applied.
20. Apply the last layer of ink, again achieving desired thickness, sequentially applying thin layers of paint. Begin to apply paint at one edge of the treated surface and then moving the hand from side to side, treat the entire surface that requires painting and the painted surface of a body within a radius of about 4-6 cm from the surface to be treated.
21. Remove any protective covers approximately 10-15 minutes after the last coat of paint.
22. Wait for about two weeks, so that the new paint is solidified, and then, using a polishing machine or a very fine abrasive paste, combine the edge of the new paint with the old paint. After that, apply a coat of polish.
