Gland pinion gear - Replacement



1. Drain the oil from the gearbox.
2. Raise the rear of the car, set the stand under the frame and gear case.
3. Remove the propeller shaft from the gearbox and slide to the side.
4. Fix the flange mount or gear large screwdriver, screwing bolts and unscrew the nut pinion.
5. Remove the flange reducer (photo).
6. Hook and remove the gland (photo).
7. Coat the oil seal groove in the gear unit! grease. Carefully avoiding leading smescheiya pinion gear, press in new shaft seal; so that its surface becomes flush with the casing (sponge stuffing box should face inside).

8. Install the flange gear, thrust washer and tighten the nut.
9. Fixing the reducer flange, tighten the nut until the disappearance of the axial backlash pinion.
10. Turn the pinion gear several times in both directions. Using a torque wrench with a scale of a few Nm and measure the amount of torque at which the driving gear starts to rotate. This moment is with preliminary tightness in bearings and the pinion gear should correspond specified in the Technical Data. If the time is less than desired, then tighten the nut gear until you reach the desired time.

Attention!
Preload is provided by the spacer bearing pinion. If the amount of preload greater than recommended, the sleeve will be deformed. In this case the gear should be removed and replaced with a spacer.

11. Next, the assembly is done in reverse order.
12. After pour in gear oil.
