Anti-lock brakes

GENERAL INFORMATION

Have the vehicle antilock brake system (ABS) considerably increases the degree of active safety. The main advantage of the service brakes, equipped with this system over conventional service braking system is that even with heavy braking to a full stop on a slippery road as the best preserved of pavement drivability, because the wheels are not blocked.

However, do not expect that, thanks to ABS under all road conditions the braking distance will be reduced. When driving on gravel or fresh snow lying on a slippery road surface, when already it is necessary to move slowly and with great caution, the braking distance may even increase.
