Side airbags



Side airbag locations

The side airbags are located in the back cushions of the front seats, and you can identify them by the inscription "AIRBAG" on the top of the back of the seat backs.

The side airbags in conjunction with three-point seat belts provides additional protection for the upper body of the driver and front passenger in the event of severe side collisions.

Side impact operation of the side airbags reduce the likelihood of serious bodily driver or front passenger who is in the area of a side impact.

In addition to performing its basic protective function, seat belts also provide a side impact at a position of the bodies of the driver and front passenger, in which the side airbags can provide the greatest protection.

The side air bags are not triggered by the impact, the weak side punch, kick to the back of the car overturning.

The side air bags without danger in any case not replace seat belts, but is an essential part of the overall concept of passive vehicle safety. Please note that the greatest effectiveness of the airbags is achieved only when the joint action to put on seat belts.

Therefore, you should always wear seat belts, not only because of the need to comply with legal requirements but also for reasons of your own safety!

The side air bags consists of the following main assemblies and components:

- Electronic control system and the control of operational readiness of the system (control unit);
- The airbags on the sides of the rear of the front seat backrests;
- Warning lamp on the instrument panel.
