Adjusting handbrake
Rear wheel brakes are automatically adjusted accordingly brake pad wear. Handbrake adjustment is only necessary when changing the lever or handbrake cable, or if the handbrake is not holding despite sufficient thickness pads. | | - Start the engine and repeatedly press the brake pedal, then the engine is off.

- Raise the rear of the vehicle.
- Check the correct pad and perfect fixation handbrake cable.
- Release the handbrake lever.
- Slowly pull the handbrake lever up and count the number of clicks.
- Required value:
- Cars up to 9/89 MY. and models of "universal": Tighten the handbrake lever with a force of 200 N (corresponding to 20 kg) - Stroke lever for vehicles with drum brakes should be from 7 to 11 clicks, for vehicles with disc brakes - from 9 to 15 clicks.
- Cars since 10/89 vol., Except for "universal": Tighten the lever with a force of about 100 N (corresponding to 10 kg). Course of the lever should be 5 to 7 clicks.
- If the value is not correct, adjust the cable drive. Adjusting nut is on the rope, and before it can be reached without removing the console.
| - Turn the adjusting nut until it reaches the correct course of the lever. To rotate best regular key. Self-locking ring nut, t. E. Zakontrivat it is not required.

- After the adjustment, lift the rear of the car and at the released handbrake turn the rear wheels by hand. They should be easily rotated while the brake rubbing should not otherwise repeat the adjustment.
