Removing and installing rear brake pads / brake drum
Cars up to 9/89 MY. and models of "universal"
 | Remove the parts in order of their numbering. Individual elements of the right and left brakes differ from each other, they must not be interchanged. |
Withdrawal Setting  | Be sure to replace all four brake pads, even if deterioration borders were reached only one. Use the pads of the same brand. Clean the brake drum and brake shield vacuum cleaner or alcohol. If the wheel brake cylinder is wet, replace it. Lightly grease the adjusting device of MoS 2. Elongated drums with grooves, always handle both drum. Brake drums can bore to a maximum diameter of 201 mm. |

 | Remove the parts in numerical order. Individual elements of the right and left brakes are different from each other; they can not replace each other. |
Withdrawal | - Mark the position of the disc relative to the hub wheel to balance the wheel could be established in former position.
- Loosen the wheel nuts standing on the ground of the car.
- Raise the rear of the vehicle.
- Remove the wheel.
- Unscrew bolt -1- on the brake drum.
- Release the hand brake and remove the brake drum from the hub. If the brake drum can not be removed because of the break-in, must first be completely loosen the cable on the lever of a manual brake.
- Before removing the return spring is recommended to mark their mounting position. This facilitates their installation.
- Disconnect the upper and lower return spring with a screwdriver or pliers.
- Strongly overcome compression spring and turn through 90 ?�. When the pin is released at the same time keep the brakes behind the backboard. Likewise, to remove the pin to the other brake shoe.
- Disconnect the return spring from the control device.
- Tilt the brake pads out and remove them.
 | When removing the brake pads do not press the brake pedal, otherwise the pistons jump out of the wheel brake cylinder. Insert pistons. See Section Repair wheel brake cylinder. |
- Disconnect the cable from the hand brake control device -11- with a screwdriver. Remove the adjuster.
- Remove -5- boot on the wheel brake cylinder.
 | The piston should not be drawn. Check for moisture for anther. If necessary, replace the wheel cylinder. |
| - Set boot on the wheel cylinder.
