Bleeding brake system

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. After each repair of the brakes, which open at the system in the pipes may be air. In this case, the system must be bled. The air is in the system, if you press the brake pedal pressure floats. In this case, eliminate the leaks and bleed the brake system.
  1. The air brake system is removed by pumping the brake pedal, this requires the help of an assistant. If you need to bleed the entire system must be bled separately each cylinder. This is the case when the air got into each cylinder.
    The sequence of pumping:
1 - rear right wheel cylinder,
2 - rear left wheel cylinder,
3 - front right brake caliper,
4 - front left brake caliper.
  1. If you replace or repair only one support, as a rule, only enough to remove the air out of him.
  2. Before pumping unscrew the expansion tank and fill it up with brake fluid to the maximum mark.

During pumping watch the liquid level in the tank. The fluid level should not drop too low, otherwise penetrate the tank through the air. Always refill only fresh brake fluid.

  1. Only the brake system with ABS: Switch on the ignition and press the brake pedal 4 - 5 times. Then, if necessary, pour in the brake fluid reservoir to the maximum mark. When bleeding the rear brake during the entire pumping leave the ignition switched on. When you open the valve turns pumping the hydraulic pump of the ABS system and create pressure.
  1. Remove the boot-1st screw venting of the wheel cylinder. Clean the bolt, put on a clean hose and the other end into a half-filled bottle of brake fluid. On older models, carefully cover the valve pumping corrosive rust tool and carefully open it.
  1. Ask an assistant to pump the brake pedal until the pressure is created that is felt by the increasing resistance when the pedal is pressed.
  2. When created enough pressure, fully depress the brake pedal and hold it in this position.
  1. Open the bleed screw on the support 1/2 turn spanner wrench. Collect leaking liquid in the bottle. Ensure that the hose is constantly immersed in brake fluid.
  1. When the pressure subsides, immediately close the valve. On models with ABS fluid pressure hardly decrease because of the inclusion of the pump, in this case, close the valve pumping 2 seconds to hydraulic pump has not been damaged.
  2. Repeat the process of pumping until the pressure is created. Push the pedal down and lock into position. Open the bleed screw when the pressure subsides, to close the valve.
  3. Repeat this process for the same cylinder as long as the bottle flowing brake fluid air bubbles.
  4. Then, when squeezed out pedal to tighten a bolt of removal of air with a force of 10 Nm.
  5. Remove the hose, valve wear to boot.
  6. Bleed same manner other cylinders.
  7. After pumping to screw the lid on the expansion tank. If necessary, top up the brake fluid up to the "MAX".
