Replacing the valve stem seal



Excessive oil flow may be caused by worn valve stem caps. Caps valve stem can be removed without removing the cylinder head, this would require a special tool. If there is no special device, it is necessary to remove a head tsilndrov.

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the cylinder head.
2. Remove the valve.
3. Remove the valve stem caps. To remove the need pliers. For engines with bucket tappets workshops using special tools. Older caps sit usually very hard. Therefore, to remove as much as possible should be applied shock stripper.

A warning

Do not use a screwdriver to remove, because tozhno damage the landing place of the cap.


Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before installing the valve, check the valve guides and possibly treat or grind the valve seats.
2. Lightly lubricate the new valve stem seals (3) and pull on the valve guides (4).
3. Place a suitable mandrel cap (1) until it stops (2 - plate valve spring). The distance should be 5: 15.2 mm.

A warning

If there is a special mandrel, the cap with a hammer and a suitable tube. The tube must have the same diameter as the cap and must not have sharp edges.


4. Install the valve springs with the upper and lower plates and squeeze. The narrow end of the spring must be reversed to the cylinder head.
5. Insert the conical biscuits, unclench valve springs.
6. In the same way, replace all valve stem seals.
7. Install the valves.
8. Establish a head of cylinders.
