Start feeding high pressure fuel pump

The moment of initiating the pump is required to be adjusted post-tensioning, removal or replacement of the timing belt, and after loosening the screw connections on the pump gears or toothed belt.

The start of feeding pump can be checked on installed or removed engine. Here is described check on the engine installed. To check the required meter with a nozzle for installation into the pump.

Test conditions

Toothed belt tension.

Engine Timing adjusted correctly.

The engine is at operating temperature. Arrow coolant temperature indicator points to the middle of the scale.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Turn off the ignition.
2. Turn the traction device cold start clockwise.
3. Insert a small wooden block (1), 15 mm between pusher device cold start and drive traction.
4. Turn the crankshaft two turns in the direction of rotation of the motor to cause the device cold start to normal.
5. Set the crankshaft in the TDC position of the piston of 1st cylinder. For this white label (2) should be aligned with the arrow (3).
6. Loosen the union nuts on high-pressure fuel pump slotted ring spanner. At the same time hold the valve is a simple key.
7. Remove the screw (verification hole) on the pump cover.
8. Replace the plug instead of a nozzle with a dial measuring device (measuring ranges 0-3,0 mm) (4), for example, NISSAN KV-11.229.352.
9. Set the scale so that the arrow stood between the values of 1.0 and 2.0 mm.
10. Rotate the crankshaft clockwise by 20 ? -25 ? before TDC. Make sure the nozzle is correctly installed. Set the scale of the measuring device to 0 mm.
11. Rotate the crankshaft clockwise and set it to 9 ? ATDC. Yellow mark (1) now stands next to the pointer (3) (see. Fig. The meter should show now the pump stroke. Required value: 0,79-0,85 mm.

A warning

If the measured value is within acceptable limits, no adjustment is no longer required. If a new adjustment is made, it should be set to 0.82 mm.

Adjustment

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. If the measured value does not coincide with the desired value, loosen the 4 fixing nut and bolt pump.
2. Turn the pump until the instrument displays the desired value.
3. The measured value is less than the required: Turn the pump housing from the motor
(5).
4. The measured value is greater than required: Turn the pump housing to the motor
(6).
5. Tighten the nuts and bolts alternately mount pump.
6. Repeat the test since the start of feeding, adjust if necessary.
7. Tighten the nuts of the pump with a force of 15 Nm and bolts to 55 Nm
8. Turn the nozzle to the measuring instrument and screw the plug with a new seal with torque of 15 Nm When leaky tube tighten to 20 Nm
9. Screw the high-pressure fuel lines with a force of 25 Nm
10. Bleed the fuel system.
