Electronic Stability Program ESP

Electronic Stability Program ESP

Cars with an anti-lock system (AVS) can also be fitted with electronic stabilization system (ESP).

Through the stabilization system control is performed for vehicle dynamics in limit conditions, for example by overcoming turns at high speed. The stabilization system uses the anti-lock, traction and traction system and reduces the risk of skidding or demolition under all possible road conditions. At all speeds stabilization system works in conjunction with ABS. At failure ABS disrupted and stabilization system. The stabilization system is automatically activated after starting the engine. If necessary, pressing the system with traction control can be turned off and turned back on.

When the system disabled warning light ESP. Normally, stabilization is always on. Only in certain exceptional cases where the desired wheel slip preferably turn off the system, for example:

- When driving with snow chains;
- When driving in deep snow or on loose ground;
- When rocking a stuck vehicle.

After overcoming such sites need to once again turn the system stabilization.

A warning

To ensure trouble-free operation of the system is necessary traction to all wheels were dressed in the same tires. The diverse paths running tires can lead to an undesirable reduction in the power developed by the engine.

Action stabilization system

The electronic stabilization system integrated anti-lock, traction and traction control. In addition to the information that is needed for these systems, the control unit electronic stabilization system, additional data are supplied by highly sensitive sensors. Measured speed of the body about the vertical axis of the vehicle, the amount of acceleration in the transverse plane, the pressure in the brake actuator and the steering angle.

Based on the angle the steering and the vehicle speed is determined by the direction in which the driver of the car is going to move, and it is constantly compared with the actual behavior of the vehicle. When inconsistency of these factors when starting the demolition or skid car, the system automatically brakes the stabilization of certain wheel.

By means of the forces which occur when the desired wheel braking, the vehicle is returned to a state of dynamic stability. When the car oversteer (tendency to drift back of the car) to slow down the impact applied to the front face with respect to the rotation of the wheel; when understeer (tendency to demolish the front of the car turning outwards) slows down the inside rear wheel.
A warning

Electronic stability can not overcome the boundaries set by the laws of physics. This should not be forgotten, especially when driving on slippery or wet. Therefore, you must always check mode of the vehicle with the state of the road surface and the general traffic conditions. The increased degree of safety thanks to the stabilization system does not mean that you can recklessly risk!
