Cylinder Head

Placing the cylinder head bolts

Remove the cylinder head only when the engine cooling. This exhaust manifold is not removed.

Defective gasket cylinder head is detected by one or several criteria:

- Loss of power;
- Coolant leak, white exhaust gas heated in the engine;
- oil leak;
- Coolant in the engine oil, the oil level is not reduced, but increased, shreds of foam on the dipstick; gray, thinning of motor oil;
- Engine oil in the coolant;
- Coolant strongly rages;
- The lack of compression in two next cylinders.

Withdrawal
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Lift the hood.
2. Disconnect "weight" batteries.
A warning

This erased anti-theft radio code.

3. Remove the air filter.
4. Remove the cross tube and suction hose of the air filter.
5. Drain the coolant.
6. Remove the heat sink.
7. Loosen the ribbed V-belt and remove it.
8. Remove the device pulls ribbed belt.
9. Clamp the hose clamps with the fuel in the fuel filter holder.

A warning

To facilitate the subsequent installation of the fuel label the tape. Speaking fuel clean cloth.

10. Remove the two screws on the holder and remove the holder with the fuel filter.
11. Remove the bracket (62) of the guide tube dipstick.
12. Remove the hose from the exhaust recirculation valve device (arrow), leading to the body of the air duct.
13. Remove the hose between the recirculation of the exhaust valve and the inlet pipe.
14. Remove the side support (5) Transmission (1) and outlet pipe (2).
15. Remove the front exhaust pipe from a collector.
16. Remove the nozzle.
17. Remove the retainer (91) the flow of heating using a homemade hook (01).
18. Remove the outlet pipe (93) from the oil filter and remove the nozzle (89).
19. Remove the electrical wires from the glow, the properly labeled tape.
20. Remove the 36-pin connector (X26 / 2).
21. Remove the inlet pipeline.
22. Remove the cylinder head cover.
23. Install engine in the ignition TDC position of first cylinder.
24. Dismantle the chain tensioner.
25. Remove camshaft, marking the position of the control circuit and a distribution gear with the help of polish or graver.
26. Knock out two fingers (221) and (222) with the M6 threaded stud and ejector.
27. If such an instrument is not present, can be removed by fingers sprocket with ten teeth (length tetra - 1/2 inch) and M6 bolts having a length about triple asterisk. To do this, screw the M6 lock nut on the bolt, then install it shims. Push your finger on the sprocket bolt M6 screw in the threaded pin and tighten the lock nut to touch it with an asterisk. Shims used to improve the fit surfaces. Pull the finger, holding the bolt head ring spanner and simultaneously turning the lock nut spanner relative to the sprocket.
28. Remove the guide rail control circuit.
29. Remove the two screws M8 cylinder head with a long socket wrench SW 6.
30. Remove the cylinder head bolts in the reverse order of their numbering, t. E., From 18 to 1 (see. Fig. Placement of the cylinder head bolts). In this first unscrew all the bolts 1/2 turn and then unscrew completely from the nozzle allen key, for example, HAZET 2751.
31. Lift cylinder head, for example using a crane. Lifting wire attachment points are the front left eye and the removal of the exhaust manifold rear right.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Clean the sealing surface of the sealant residues using a suitable scraper. Make sure that no dirt enters the motor block hole. Cover the holes with a rag.
A warning

The bolt holes of the cylinder head must not be slaughtered remains of oil and coolant. Blow holes with compressed air or a clean screwdriver wrapped in cloth and the liquid suction. Otherwise, the new bolt tightening pressure will arise, which can lead to cracks in the engine block or the wrong bolt torque.

2. Check the flatness of the engine block.
3. Place the new head gasket sealant to the cylinder without skim sealing surface so as not to have closed the hole.
4. Clean the sealing surface of the cylinder head.
5. Check the flatness of the cylinder head.
6. Install the cylinder head.
7. Measure the length (L) of the cylinder head bolts. If you exceed the maximum length (see. Table Bolts cylinder head), do not use these bolts.
8. Apply engine oil to the threads and the surface adjacent to the bolt head. Check bolts for cracks and replace if necessary. Screw the bolts into the cylinder head and tighten by hand (see. Table Placing the cylinder head bolts).
A warning

Bolts cylinder head must be set without shims. Carefully tighten the screws. Check the accuracy of the pre-torque wrench.

Cylinder head bolts are tightened in sequence from 1 to 18 in four stages (see. Fig. Placement of the cylinder head bolts).
A warning

Bolts cylinder head at each stage accordingly tightened in sequence from the 1st to the 18th.

First step: torque wrench to 15 Nm
Second stage: torque wrench to 35 Nm
The third stage: spanner tighten the screws in the same direction by 90 ?.
A warning

At this point, take a 10-minute pause in the tightening bolts. Then, continue to tighten the bolts, not weakening them.

Fourth stage: spanner tighten the bolts another 90 ?.
A warning

When tightening the bolts holding the handle of the key along the engine and turn it in one motion until the handle will not be across the motor (1/4 turn = 90 ?).

9. On the two bolts M8 (a) the front cylinder head, set the spring washers and tighten the long socket wrench SW6 to 25 Nm
10. Install the guide rail of the control circuit, insert your fingers after brushing their shoulders sealing compound, for example, Mercedes-001,589 in 2520.
11. Install the camshaft.
12. Install chain tensioner.
13. Install engine in the ignition TDC position and check the position of the camshaft.
14. Install the cylinder head.
15. Install the intake line.
16. Install the 36-pin connector.
17. Screw the electrical wires glow.
18. Install the elbow with a new sealing ring and screw knee to the air filter.
A warning

O-ring for improved assembly can be lowered into the cooling liquid. In no case do not use grease or oil.

19. Install the heating supply line and attach the locking clips.
20. Screw the front exhaust pipe to the manifold to 25 Nm
21. Screw to 25 Nm Holder gearbox and the front exhaust pipe.
22. Install the hose from the exhaust gas recirculation valve to the body of the air duct and the hose between the recirculation valve and the inlet pipe.
23. Screw the holder dipstick guide tube.
24. Install the fuel filter holder and attach to the cylinder head to 25 Nm
25. Screw the fuel lines with new gaskets to the fuel filter. Remove the hose clamps.
26. Install the device pulls ribbed belt.
27. Apply and tighten the ribbed V-belt.
28. Install the heat sink.
29. Set the transverse pipe of the air filter and the air suction hose.
30. Install the air filter.
31. Fill the coolant.
32. Connect the battery wire "mass" (-).
33. Set the clock.
34. Set the anti-theft code for the radio.
A warning

If the gasket cylinder head was defective, replace the engine oil and oil filter.

35. Warm up the engine to operating temperature and check the tightness of all the elements connected.
A warning

Tightening the cylinder head bolts is prohibited.

36. Finally, press Unlock the engine cover on the left arm.
