Valve stem seals

Signs of wear seals the valve stem (valve stem seals) - High oil consumption. The caps can be removed and installed in the cylinder head. This is necessary to support the pusher arm, for example, Mercedes-601 589 025 900, 111 589, 186 100 and 111 589 3000 (solenoid plunger). If this special tool no need to disassemble the cylinder head.

After the dismantling of a head and a big run is required to replace the valve stem seals.

A warning

If items control valves will be used again, they must be installed in its place. To prevent any confusion, it is recommended to provide cover for storage.

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Dismantle the chain tensioner.
2. Remove the camshaft.
3. Remove the poppet plunger with a rubber siphon (diameter 30 mm), e.g., 735-2 HAZET. Do not use a magnetic trap: with the magnetized surface of the sliding pusher plate, and on it is postponed smallest metal shavings, which contributes to damage the bucket tappets and cams. Siphon can be made independently, using a suction cup and a wall hook.

A warning

Before removing the pusher thoroughly clean the surface.

When compressing the valve spring associated piston must be in the ignition TDC. Since the removal of the camshaft cylinder 1 is at TDC ignition, it is advisable to start with the removal of the cylinder valve springs 1.

4. Screw the support webs for the pusher lever to the cylinder head.
5. Push down the lever of the pusher plates via springs intake and exhaust valves of the cylinder 1. The cylinder 1 is located on the front side of the control circuit, the cylinder 4 is located on the rear side of the flywheel.
6. Remove with tweezers or a magnet crackers (202).
7. Slowly unclench valve spring (198).
8. Remove the spring plate (201) and spring. (203) bucket tappets (197) of the lower plate of the valve springs.
9. In the repair shop for engines with high mileage, you can test the strength of the valve springs.
10. Remove the second valve spring cylinder 1.
11. The valve stem seals (199-200), remove with a special collet, for example, HAZET 791-6.
A warning

Try not to damage the valve stem and valve guide.

12. Remove burrs from the recess of the valve stem.
A warning

Replace crackers molded valve spring plate. When dismantled valve springs, plates of springs and crackers can not turn the engine, ie. A. The valves based on the pistons and can fall into the cylinder.

Setting

Valve stem seal of the intake valve (199)

Chamfer (arrow) is displaced.
The inner diameter of d = 7,3 mm.
Wire ring phosphated, black.

Valve stem seal exhaust valve (200)

Chamfer (arrow) is tapered.
The inner diameter of d = 8,2 mm.
Galvanized wire ring, yellow.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Lubricate new valve stem seals, and with the help of the mounting mandrel, for example, HAZET 2577, set on the rod.
A warning

Do not mix caps for exhaust and intake valves.

2. Install the valve springs below according to their color.
3. Put a plate valve springs and push them from the bottom, enter the crumbs into the corresponding groove on the valve stems.
4. Set the next TDC ignition piston and replace the valve stem seals, by turning 1/2 turn the engine at central bolt crankshaft pulley until the incision, indicating the 180 ?, will not be established under the pointer on the crankcase. Thus, the third cylinder piston is at TDC ignition (operating procedure of cylinders 1-3-4-2). Then turn on the corresponding half-turn in the ignition TDC set the pistons 4 and 2.
A warning

When the motor control circuit of the lift to keep it was involved in. In the workshop for this purpose special support wheel for the control circuit.

5. Set the bucket tappets and camshaft.
6. Install the chain tensioner.
