Hydraulic bucket tappets

All diesel engines are equipped with hydraulic bucket tappets. This reduces the noise in a drive of valves and valve clearance adjustment is required as part of maintenance.

Check the operation of the hydraulic tappets in the case when the engine operating temperature continues to drive noise in the valve.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Pass a warm engine. After reaching the operating temperature of coolant continue driving for 5 km to ensure sufficient engine oil temperature.
2. If the hydraulic pusher is still noise, stop the engine.
3. Check the engine oil level, he in any case should not be higher than "max" mark on the dipstick.
4. Remove the cross tube of the air filter.
5. Remove the cylinder head cover.
6. At the top of the pusher plate control cams of inlet and exhaust valves of the corresponding cylinder must be in the top position. In this case, the corresponding pushers unloaded. Since unnecessary cranking element contributes to subsidence valve clearance compensation, it is advisable to start with control of a cylinder standing in the ignition TDC.
7. Click on the poppet pusher a wooden or plastic rod downwards and check the air gap. If the air gap is greater than 0.4 mm and a pusher is moved downward more easily than others, it must be replaced.
8. Turn the camshaft so that the cams to be checked cylinder have been directed upwards. To do this, the transmission to idle, apply the parking brake and turn the crankshaft bolt for the camshaft gears.
9. If the test plate plunger is pressed down more easily than others, or if the circumference of the cam there is a gap, check the condition of the access holes and drain the oil, dismantling the plunger (Work for the repair shop).
10. If necessary, disassemble and replace the camshaft bucket tappets.
11. Install the cylinder head cover.
12. Install the cross tube of the air filter.
