Removing and installing intake manifold and exhaust manifold
Engine M 123
| Removing the manifold gasket (engine M 123) |
| - Drain liquid from cooling system.
- Remove the air cleaner.
- Disconnect the throttle bodies.
- Note (Label) the location of all wires and hoses.
- Disconnect water hoses and vacuum hoses; disconnect the wires from the carburettor.
- Unscrew the return tube heater.
- Remove the flange nuts and the exhaust pipe, tapping, loose flanges.
- Mark the position of the brackets on the manifold.
- Disconnect the regulator heating control mechanisms on the exhaust manifold.
- Unscrew the nuts and remove the intake and exhaust manifolds to the cylinder head. Remove the gasket.
- Remove the carburetor.
- Remove casing bolts of the exhaust manifold.
- Installation is made in sequence, return to removal. Put new gaskets and finally adjust the idle speed.

Engine M 110
The inlet pipe
| - Remove the carburetor or throttle housing.
- Drain the cooling system.
- Disconnect the throttle control rods.
- Note the position of all cables and hoses and disconnect them.
- Remove the mounting nuts and bolts and remove the inlet manifold to the cylinder head. Remove the gasket. On some models, you may need to remove the engine mount and vibration damper, as well as post to remove the engine manifold.
- Installation is made in sequence, return to removal. Fill the cooling system and finally adjust the engine idle speed.

An exhaust manifold
Parts of the exhaust system of the engine M 110
| - Remove the flange nuts and the exhaust pipes separate the past from the exhaust manifolds. Remove the gasket.
- Note the position of the bracket, unscrew the nuts and remove the collectors from the cylinder head. Remove the gasket.
- Installation is made in sequence, return to removal. Be sure to put new gaskets so that the convex flange facing the collector.
