Condition check, removal and installation of a brake disk

The procedure is equally applicable to the disc brake as the front and rear wheels.

Checking the Status

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Loosen the wheel nuts, Poddomkratte car and establish it on props. Remove a corresponding wheel, and then screw a couple of wheel nuts back on the studs, placing them under the washer 3 mm in order to fix the brake disc. When checking the rear brake disc do not forget to release the parking brake.

2. Remove the brake caliper (see. Section Removal and installation of supports of disk brake mechanisms) and tie it to the side of the wire to the suspension, without disconnecting the brake hose.

3. Perform a visual inspection of the two working surfaces of the disc. Light defects can be eliminated by using fine sandpaper. To remove the furrows deeper than 1.0 mm disc must be removed and subjected to the groove. Remember that the inspection must be carried out disc from both sides.

4. If you were noticed during braking pedal pulsation should estimate the lateral runout of the brake disc. Fix the dial gauge plunger type (DTI) at a distance of 12.7 mm from the outer edge of the disc. Reset the unit and start to rotate the disk. The measurement result shall not exceed the limits specified in Specifications range, otherwise it should be given in the groove.

Composers of the present Management recommend to make a groove drives, regardless of their state to remove from the working surfaces of all kinds of defects. In the extreme case we can restrict treatment disc fine sandpaper.

5. In the groove disc should pay special attention to compliance with the requirements of specifications to its minimum permissible thickness. On the front surface of the disk is provided corresponding markings. Measurement of thickness of a disc, using a micrometer.

REMOVAL

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the two mounting bolts and remove the anchor bracket brake.

2. Give the wheel nuts, Screw for fixing disc and remove the wheel assembly of the latter with the hub. If the disc is "stuck with" and not amenable to removal, screw the threaded studs between the wheel opening pair of long screws of the appropriate size and try to evict the assembly by their gradual tightening.

INSTALLATION

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Gently slide the disc on the hub (try not to damage the wheel studs).
2. Put on the regular place brake anchor bracket. Tighten the clamp with the required effort. Install the brake pads.
3. Establish a support and tighten with demanded effort bolts of its fastening.
4. Replace the wheel, lower the car on the earth and tighten wheel nuts with demanded effort (see. Specifications to the Head of Adjustment and routine maintenance). Some times squeeze out a brake pedal / cock the parking brake lever for the purpose of shrinkage pad on the disc. If the brake hose is not disconnected, the need for pumping the hydraulic system is not available. Before starting operation of the vehicle, make sure of serviceability of functioning of brakes.
