Removal and installation of wheel cylinders

In the event of leaks wheel cylinders are subject to replacement without fail. Manufacturers do not recommend the attempt of restoring repair of data nodes brakes. Replacing the wheel cylinders is always done in pairs.

REMOVAL

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Poddomkratte back of the car and establish it on props. Prop up the front wheel chock.
2. Remove the brake drum and shoes (see. Section Replacement of boots of drum-type brake mechanisms of back wheels).
3. Clean the wheel cylinder and surrounding surface dirt.

4. Disconnect the hydraulic line from the back of the wheel cylinder. When disconnecting do not pull on the brake line metal tube to avoid its deformation, can significantly complicate the procedure to connect. Giving Away the nuts should be done with a special ring spanner cutting head. Immediately plug the open end of the brake line to minimize loss of liquid and to prevent ingress of dirt into the hydraulic system.

5. Remove the two screws on the wheel cylinder.
6. Remove the wheel cylinder with brake board and transfer it to a clean work bench.

If the friction linings of brake shoes are traces of hydraulic fluid, the shoes should be replaced, and the working surface of the drum thoroughly cleaned.

INSTALLATION

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Get into the cylinder on the regular place and reconnect the hydraulic line (do not tighten the nut until the nipple). Screw fixing bolts and tighten them with demanded effort.
2. Now, you can finally tighten the flare nuts. Replace the shoe assembly (see. Section Replacement of boots of drum-type brake mechanisms of back wheels).
3. Bleed the brake system (see. Section Check and replacement of brake lines and hoses). Replace the wheel, lower the car on the earth and tighten wheel nuts with demanded effort (see chap. Adjustment and routine maintenance).
4. Before operating the vehicle, make sure of serviceability of functioning of brakes.
