Replacement brake disc brake pads

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Replacing the brake pads must be carried out simultaneously on both the front / rear brake mechanisms. Remember that generated in the process of brake dust can contain extremely harmful to human health asbestos. In no case do not blow off the dust with compressed air and do not inhale it - serving mechanisms wear protective mask or respirator. In no case do not use for cleaning brake components gasoline or petroleum-based solvents, - use only genuine cleaners or methyl alcohol!

1. Remove the cover from the brake fluid reservoir. Evacuate the vessel about 2/3 of it contains hydraulic fluid.
2. Loosen the nuts respective wheels. Poddomkratte front / back of the car and establish it on props, prop chock the wheels stay on the ground.
3. Remove the front / rear wheels.

Replacing all four brake pads of both wheels on one axle should be carried out simultaneously. To avoid confusion, each mechanism to operate individually, - the second may optionally be used as a reference during assembly.

4. Inspect the brake disc (see. Section Condition check, removal and installation of the brake disc). If necessary, the implementation of the bore, the drive will also have to be removed (see. Below).
5. When you replace the pads Front brake, follow the instructions in the illustrations below, - carefully read the explanatory captions to the pictures.

Before disassembling the brake should be thoroughly cleaned using special tools, and then dried; in any case not blow off the dust with compressed air brake!

Press the piston into the cylinder with the help of a support clamp (clamp is put an end to support for the caliper, a screw - rests on the outer brake pad)

Remove the lower caliper mounting bolts (A); an upper bolt (B) should be turned only in the case when the need of removing the caliper. Hollow screw couplings (C) shall be subject to the give only to replace the caliper

Lift the caliper by removing it from the brake disc

On models since 1995 Vol. Remove the spring antivizgovye

Remove the inner brake pad

Remove the outer pad

Remove the anchor bracket upper and lower pad holders

Remove the pad adjusting lining

Wipe the caliper guide pin, inspect it for scoring, and traces of rust, then grease with refractory greasing and set on the regular place in the anchor bracket

Replace the pads adjusting lining

Grease composition antivizgovym reverse side of both shoes, give structure to harden for a few minutes

Install the upper and lower pad holders

Establish an internal block (this block is equipped with a wear indicator)

Install the outer pad

On models since 1995 Vol. antivizgovye set the spring, and then (on all models), lower caliper, tighten the bottom fixing bolt and tighten it with demanded effort.

If you can not wear a caliper on the pads, push the piston into the cylinder using a clamp.

6. The procedure for replacing pads on the rear disc brake is set out in the illustrations below.

After cleaning the assembly of a brake dust, release the parking brake cable retainer (A) and disconnect the cable from the executive arm. On models since 1995 Vol. Turn out the top bolt caliper (A) (in earlier models, remove the screw C); banjo bolt couplings (C) shall be subject to the give only to replace the caliper

Remove the caliper from the brake disc and placed in the anchor bracket brake pads; remove the internal connector

Remove the outer pad

Remove the top and bottom pad holders

Remove the caliper antivizgovye springs and carefully check their condition; in the case of detection of cracks or other mechanical damage, replace the spring

Install the upper and lower latches pad

Install the outer pad

Install the inner pad

Rotate piston to drown him in the cylinder of a support (use a special device - ask in shops of automobile accessories in a pinch, you can use pliers). Lower support in the staffing situation, return the retaining bolt and tighten it with demanded effort, and then connect to the executive arm of the brake mechanism actuating the parking brake cable

7. When assembling, make sure that the retaining bolt has been tightened with demanded effort.
8. After finishing the assembly, repeatedly depress the foot brake for shrinkage new pads on the disks. Check brake fluid level, if necessary, make appropriate adjustment (see chap. Adjustment and routine maintenance). Before embarking on the normal operation of the vehicle, and make sure of serviceability of functioning of brake system.
