Measurement of deterioration of gear belts on diesel engines
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Release the three spring clips and remove the casing of a gear belt.
2. Using a caliper, measure the width (a) the timing belt (the arrows indicate the location of measurement). If the width of the toothed belt over 22 mm, this indicates the approximation of belt wear and need replacement.
3. When replacing the timing belt and tensioner roller should be replaced belt.
4. Install the casing of a gear belt and fix its three spring clips.
