Adjusting valve clearance and check tightening torque of bolts fastening the cylinder head
Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature. Stop the engine and remove the air filter housing. Mark all hoses and connectors disconnected from the air filter housing. Remove the spark plug caps with a high-voltage wires and take them away from the cylinder head cover. Remove the cylinder head cover PCV crankcase ventilation valve and bracket high-voltage wires. Pigtails fix aside the accelerator cable. With compressed air, clean the spark that will eliminate the ingress of dirt into the cylinder of the engine after a reversing of spark plugs. Remove the spark plugs. According to a high-voltage spark plug wire of the first cylinder lock its position on the case of the distributor of ignition the number "1". Do the same for the other cylinders (the number "2", "3", "4"), and then remove the cover and disconnect the wire from the ignition distributor. Remove the cylinder head cover. Turning the crankshaft in the direction of its working rotation of the pulley bolt, install the first cylinder at TDC on the compression stroke, the rotor of the distributor of ignition must be aligned with the mark "1" in the case of the distributor of ignition. Otherwise, rotate the crankshaft clockwise one full turn. Probe to measure the gap exhaust valves in the first and third cylinders and a gap of the intake valves in the first and second cylinders. Record the measurement results. Turn the crankshaft one turn (the fourth cylinder piston is at TDC on the compression stroke) and measure gaps in the remaining valves. Record the measurement results. If the valve clearance is not correct, adjust them. Rotate the crankshaft of the engine to a position where the camshaft lobes over the valve adjustment is required, will be directed upwards. Loosen the lock nut and gently unscrew or screw the adjustment screw until the probe will not enter with little effort. Use a screwdriver to fix the position of the adjusting screw and tighten the lock nut. Recheck clearance.

When removing the cylinder head cover and warm engine torque wrench to check the tightening torque head bolts. Loosen one bolt, turning it a quarter turn, then tighten in the manual torque. Repeat this process for all the bolts of the cylinder head in the order shown in Fig. 2.23. Install the cylinder head cover with a new gasket and tighten the bolts evenly moments given in the beginning of the section. Replace the spark plug, replace the cover of the distributor of ignition and high-voltage wires connect. Install an air filter, connect hoses, connectors and vacuum hoses. Start up the engine and check for oil leaks between the cylinder head cover and the cylinder head.
