Testing of tires and tire pressure

Tires should keep the car at the desired trajectory, regardless of weather and road conditions. The forces acting on the tires during acceleration and braking of the car, are added to the centrifugal forces generated during cornering and attempting to shift the car turn in the opposite direction. In all cases, the tires must perceive the load acting on them, and save the motion path.
Checking the tires - an important element of prevention. As of tires can be judged on the state of the steering and suspension of the car, to prevent serious damage.
Maintaining proper tire pressure increases their service life, provides a minimum fuel consumption and increases the comfort of the trip.
When checking the condition of the tires in the first step is to determine tread wear. Uneven tread wear (wear on the central track, spotted, uneven wear) indicates an improper adjustment of the wheel alignment and / or balance, in this case it is necessary to take the vehicle to a repair shop to fix the problem.
Check the tire tread for cuts or tears. If a nail breaks the tire tread and stuck to it, the tire will hold air pressure only a short time, so you should contact the workshop for the restoration of a punctured tire.
It is important to check the inner and outer sidewalls of the tires for damage rubber, cuts and tears. Inspect the insides of the tires for signs of brake fluid leaks and immediately check the availability of the braking system.
Tire pressure can not be determined visually, especially for radial tires. To determine the tire pressure gauge must be used.
Always check the pressure on cold tires. Cold considered car tires, drive no more than one kilometer after parking for at least three hours.
Remove the valve cap and strongly push the tip of the gauge to the valve. Record readings on the gauge and compare it to the recommended tire pressure.
Check the pressure in all tires, including the spare tire on the wheel, and, if necessary, adjust the pressure. After pressure testing, reinstall the valve cap, which prevents the penetration of dirt and moisture on the nipple.
