Check and replacement of the valve of ventilation crankcase (PCV)

Crankcase ventilation valve located in the cylinder head cover.
When the engine is idling at normal operating temperature pull the valve (with the attached hose) from the rubber grommet.

Check crankcase ventilation valve (PCV)
Fig. 2.20. Check crankcase ventilation valve (PCV)

Put a finger to the end of the valve (Fig. 2.20). If the speed of the crankshaft of the engine is reduced, then the valve is working properly. If the speed of the crankshaft of the engine is not reduced, then the valve is defective, it must be replaced.
To replace the valve, remove it from the end of the hose, mark the position and direction of proper installation.
Buying crankcase ventilation valve PCV, make sure that it corresponds to the model of your car, year of manufacture and engine capacity. You can compare the old with the new valve to make sure that they are the same.
Insert the valve into the end of the hose. Inspect the rubber sealing ring for damage and, if necessary, replace it.
Firmly set in its original position crankcase ventilation valve and the PCV hose.
