Checking system EVAP

An activated carbon filter prevents the penetration of harmful vapors from the fuel tank into the atmosphere. Fuel vapor accumulated in the canister with activated charcoal - adsorber and afterburned with the engine cylinders. The most common symptom in the EVAP - a strong smell of gasoline in the engine compartment. Inspect the charcoal canister disposed on the partition wall of the engine compartment, and hoses.
To test the system, place your hands under the canister fuel vapor recovery when the engine is at normal operating temperature and then slowly increasing the engine speed. If under the base of the canister there is the movement of air, fuel vapor recovery system is functioning properly.
