Check the engine air intake temperature control
All engines are equipped with a temperature regulator engine intake air which supplies air to the carburetor to different locations depending on the engine temperature. Check the engine air intake temperature control is performed visually, and you can use a small mirror. The flap thermostat is located inside a long air intake pipe under the metal casing of the air filter, and visible from the air filter housing. Make sure that the flexible air hose securely attached and not damaged. If you have a flexible duct connected to the end of the tube and leading to the area behind the front grille, unplug it from the tube. It will enable through the end of the tube to monitor the situation damper thermostat, located inside the tube. The check must be carried out on cold engine. Start up the engine and observe the position of the damper in the tube, which should be closed. When the valve is closed the air can not flow through the tube and enters the air through a flexible corrugated hose connected to the air intake located near the exhaust manifold. After warming up the engine to operating temperature damper should open and let the air through the intake pipe. Depending on the ambient temperature it may take 10-15 minutes. To speed up the check, you can connect the duct to make the trip by car to check, whether fully open damper. If the engine air intake temperature control does not work properly, replace it.
