Replacing a working fluid in an automatic transmission
Replacement of fluid in an automatic transmission should be carried out immediately after the trip. Hot liquid is better than cold, the gearbox makes it precipitate formed. The liquid temperature can exceed 178 ? C. To replace the hydraulic fluid in the automatic transmission must use the following equipment and materials: - Stands to support the vehicle; - 4 liters capacity container to collect old working fluid; - A wrench to loosen the plug wrap and drain the fluid. Lift the car and fix it on supports. Place a container for collection of the old hydraulic fluid transmission and remove the drain plug. Make sure the tank is securely mounted fluid collection because the liquid comes out under pressure. After draining the fluid, clean the plug, screw it into place and tighten. Lower the car. Open the hood and remove pointer (probe) to measure the liquid level in the gearbox. Pour through a funnel into a filling tube of an automatic transmission specified in the technical data of the corresponding type of fluids and wait until the liquid is drained into the sump. Pour the liquid in small portions, constantly checking the level. Take precautions to prevent dirt and foreign objects in the transmission. Set the selector lever to position "Parking", apply the parking brake and let the engine without pressing the accelerator pedal. Do not increase the speed of the engine crankshaft. When the engine is idling, check the fluid level, which should be below the mark ?F? on the dipstick. If the level exceeds this mark, drain excess liquid.
