Everything described in this guide car models are equipped with a hydraulic braking system with vacuum gain. On the front wheels are always installed disc brakes, while the mechanisms of back wheels can be either disk (model 1995 .. no.) And drum (models 1993 and 1994 vol.) Design.

All brakes are equipped samoregulyatorami. This compensation brake pad wear Disc Brake (front and back) is done automatically, while for drum brakes have special adjusting device, the activation of which takes place at raising the parking brake.

Hydraulic system

The dual structure equipped with two separate reservoirs of the master cylinder (GTZ) allows hydraulic path divided into two operating independently from each other, the contour. This means that in case of failure of one of the circuits, the second continues to operate as usual, providing adequate braking of the car. Hydraulic circuits have a diagonal arrangement, and the failure of any of them, of course, leads to a reduction in braking performance and is accompanied by actuation of a control lamp on the dashboard with the squeezing of a pedal of a foot brake.

The main brake cylinder (GTZ)

GTZ is mounted on the actuator assembly of the brake servo, mounted on the rear bulkhead of the engine compartment. On top of the cylinder there is a large reservoir of hydraulic fluid, equipped with a plastic cover. The tank is mounted in the cylinder by means of a cylindrical bushing and a pin.

As mentioned above, the GTZ has the dual design that provides operation of two independent hydraulic circuits. Fluid pressure in each of the individual circuits is injected inside the main piston cylinder. Mounted on the engine compartment bulkhead, two-way control valve provides the necessary balance of the hydraulic forces developed in brake mechanisms front and rear wheels.

Vacuum brake booster

Power generated by the use of intake manifold vacuum to increase the efficiency of the hydraulic drive of the brake system. Servo servo mounted on the rear bulkhead of the engine compartment inside the latter.

Parking brake

Rope drives of handbrake is fed to the rear brakes of the vehicle. Cocking and releasing the brake is provided by the set lever on the center console.

Service

Upon completion of any of the maintenance procedures associated with the removal or dismantling of any of the components of the braking system is mandatory, check the efficiency of the brake system and only made sure of the full serviceability of its operation, proceed to the operation of the vehicle. Sea trials should be carried out on a clean, dry and flat surfaces.

Check the braking efficiency of the vehicle at various speeds and various efforts to squeeze the brake pedal. The car must be braked evenly, while maintaining exchange rate stability. Try to prevent premature wheel lock, fraught with the loss of control over the management.

Remember that among the factors that affect the braking performance of the vehicle include the condition and inflation pressure of tires, the level of loading of the car and correct suspension geometry.

Safety measures

When servicing the components of the braking system of vehicles must comply with some special precautions:

a) For the filling of brake system hydraulic fluid use only DOT Class 3;
b) The friction brake linings / shoes can contain unhealthy asbestos. Try not to inhale brake dust, do not blow off with compressed air. For the rubbing of components of brake mechanisms apply only special cleaning compositions;
c) to ensure compliance with all the required tolerances and the efforts of a tightening of fixture. At service of components use only serviceable tool. At the slightest doubt, seek professional help. Remember that serviceability of functioning of brakes is the key to traffic safety;
d) If the slightest sign of infringement of serviceability of functioning of brake system operation of the car must be stopped!
