Check of serviceability of functioning / tightness, replacement and adjustment of the brake servo

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Do not start the engine several times depress the foot brake. Make sure that there are no changes in the value of reserve pedal travel (the distance between the pedal and the floor).
2. Hold the pedal depressed, start the engine. If immediately after starting the pedal slightly "fails", therefore, the vacuum brake booster is working properly.

Leak test

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Run the engine for a few minutes, then shut off. Several times slowly depress the brake pedal. If the first pedal stroke with each squeezing gradually reduced, however, after three or four pitching stabilizes, then the tightness of the assembly of the vacuum amplifier is not broken.
2. Depress the brake pedal with the engine running. Hold the pedal depressed, stop the engine. If after 30 seconds of holding the pedal down its reserve stroke does not change, therefore the tightness of the vacuum amplifier assembly is not compromised.

Check the value of the push rod protruding

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Remove the vacuum booster assembly GTZ (see. Section Removal and installation of the main brake cylinder).

The need to disconnect the hydraulic lines from the GTZ is missing, - track, that they are not deformed in the process of retraction assembly. With manual vacuum pump create assembly servo brake booster vacuum depth of about 508 mm. Hg. Art. , Push down on the push rod with a force of about 2 kgf, and measure the length of the protrusion of the stem. Compare result of measurement to requirements of Specifications, in case of need replace the amplifier assembly.

REPLACEMENT

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Block brake servo is not subject to regenerative repair and in case of failure should be replaced in the assembly.

1. Remove the GTZ (see. Section Removal and installation of the main brake cylinder).
2. Disconnect the vacuum hose to the amplifier from the failed engine. Try not to damage the hose, removing it from the union in the assembly of the amplifier.

3. In car salon remove the bottom section of furnish of the panel and look for a node connecting rod of a pusher of the vacuum amplifier the pedal of a foot brake (if necessary, use a flashlight).

4. Remove the cotter pin, remove the cylindrical pin and remove the split finger pusher from the pedal arm.
5. From the cabin give the four nuts of the vacuum amplifier assembly to the bulkhead engine compartment, remove the washer (if necessary, use a flashlight).
6. Go to the engine compartment and remove assemblage of the vacuum amplifier of the rear bulkhead. Pull assembly strictly along its setting up until the pusher is completely released from the bulkhead. Remove the assembly from the engine compartment.
7. Install in the reverse order (pre-check the installation size of the adjustment).

ADJUSTMENT

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Measure the distance from the end surface of the vacuum booster assembly to split pin hole in the push rod. Compare result of measurement to requirements of Specifications, if necessary loosen the locknut and turn the split pin Achieve the desired value. Do not forget to tighten the lock nut.
