1. Before you proceed directly to the assessment of the state of the sensor, make sure of serviceability of giving him the power of the PCM and in the absence of evidence of violations of the ground. Disconnect the IAT sensor wiring and connect a voltmeter to the two terminals of the connector from the harness. Turn on the ignition (the engine do not start), - the meter should give an indication of 5.0 V, otherwise check up an electroconducting condition on a chain site between the sensor and the PCM. If the connection is in order, drive to a workshop to diagnose the state of the PCM and perform the proper reconditioning. 2. With the ignition off, disconnect from the IAT sensor wiring and use an ohmmeter to measure the resistance between the two terminals of the sensor connector while the engine is cold. Restore initial connection of electrical wiring, start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature. Again disunite connector and repeat the measurement of resistance. Compare the two measurements with the schedule of the temperature dependence of the sensor. Faulty sensor must be replaced. | The thinner the IAT sensor status check can be made out of the car and build a complete graph of the temperature dependence by lowering the heated water on the fire. |
