System of catching of fuel evaporations (EVAP) - the general information, check of a condition and replacement of components
general information
| EVAP system accumulates accumulated in the power supply system of the car is stationary fuel evaporation and provides the output of the intake tract for combustion during normal engine operation. The composition of any EVAP system necessarily includes a special adsorber filled with activated charcoal, which, in fact, and collects a fuel evaporation. The adsorber tube is connected to a fuel tank, moreover, the design of the system allows the feed to the adsorber vacuum from the intake port of the engine and the intake duct |
When the engine is off, collects in the tank, throttle body and intake manifold fuel vaporization of the connecting tubes are displayed in a coal adsorber, where it is stored until the engine starts. When the engine starts and the adsorber is purged of accumulated vapor discharged into the intake path, from entering the combustion chamber.
On models 1993 and 1994 vol., as well as models of MY 1995, fall under the federal law, the vacuum switching valve purge control is installed on top of the absorber. On the Californian models 1995 Vol. and all models from 1996 MY. It uses an electronic control valve purge canister, triggered by command PCM. The electronic control system also includes a shut-off valve, allowing the canister purge stop at idle and during engine braking. CHECK | 1. Malfunctioning valve uparvleniya blowing and mechanical damage to a coal adsorber or trunks leading to destabilization idle speed, stop the engine and spontaneous reduction of the efficiency of its return. 2. With increased fuel consumption, as well as the appearance of a distinct smell of petrol entering the interior of the vehicle, you should first check the condition of the fuel lines. Make sure there are no signs of mechanical damage to the canister. 3. Check the hoses supplied to the adsorber. Make the necessary replacement. 4. Replace Cracked adsorber (See below.). 5. Make sure that there are no signs of leaks under the carbon adsorber. If necessary, replace the failed assembly. Track correctness of connection of hoses and gaskets. |

Replacing carbon adsorber
All models in 1993 and 1994 Vol. and the federal model 1995 Vol. | 1. Carefully remove all Mark and let down to the adsorption vacuum hoses. | 2. Remove the retaining bolts and remove the adsorber with the support bracket. |
3. Install in the reverse order. |
|
California Model 1995 Vol. and all models from 1996 MY. | | In these models, the carbon adsorber EVAP located on the left side of a vehicle, behind the fuel tank. |
1. Poddomkratte car and establish it on props. 2. Carefully Mark and disconnect from all canister vacuum lines. 3. Turn out fixing bolts and remove the adsorber. 4. Install in the reverse order. |
