Check and replacement of the gauge-switch of pressure in the system hydrostrengthening wheel (PSP)

PSP is a normally open sensor switch, integrated in the discharge line between the sump hydraulic steering and the steering pump. When the pressure in the hydraulic path reaches a certain value, the circuit-breaker of the sensor, which is immediately notified PCM. Such tracking threshold pressure control module allows time to adjust the idle speed of the engine during the maneuver. If any signs of failure functioning sensor PCM memorizes the self-test unit corresponding fault code. Check the state of the gauge-switch should be carried out if the engine stalls spontaneously while parking or when the idle speed is constantly high.

CHECK

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Perform the following procedure may result in a memorized OBD fault, which will be displayed control lamp "Check up the engine". Upon completion of inspection and corresponding regenerative repair do not forget to clean the system memory (see. Section System of onboard diagnostics (OBD) - a principle of functioning and codes of malfunctions).

1. Disconnect from the gauge-switch wiring and connect an ohmmeter to terminals on the housing assembly.

2. Run the engine at idle.

Make sure that connecting cables do not come into contact with moving components in the engine compartment.

3. Bring the front wheels in the straight-ahead position and read the ohmmeter, which in this case must be equal to infinity.
4. Turn the steering wheel in either direction, observe the test meter. When approaching a steering wheel to any of the extreme positions gauge-switch PSP should be closed, as evidenced by close to zero the ohmmeter.
5. At negative results of check replace the gauge-switch. If a sensor switch is OK, check the settings of the engine idle speed. Also check for an open in the wiring coming from the PCM. Rate the quality of ground black wire sensor harness.

REPLACEMENT

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect the wiring from the sensor-switch
2. Using two wrenches, remove the gauge-switch of the connecting block.
3. Install the new sensor switch the removed, connect the wiring.
4. Remove from a hydraulic path of the steering amplifier air stoppers (see chap. Suspension and steering). If necessary, Correct hydraulic fluid level (see chap. Adjustment and routine maintenance).
