1. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery. | If installed on the car stereo is equipped with a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action! |
2. Remove the outlet of the air cleaner from the intake duct or throttle body. 3. Disconnect the wiring from the throttle body throttle position sensor (TPS) (see chap. Engine management). Also, label and disconnect all vacuum hoses. 4. Disconnect the throttle cable (see. Section Removal, installation and adjustment of a cable of an accelerator) and at the appropriate vehicle, Tempostat. | 5. Disconnect the hoses from the throttle body cooling path. To minimize loss of coolant immediately plug the open ends of the lines. |
| 6. Remove the throttle body bolts. On models 1993 and 1994 Vol. Remove the air intake duct. Remove the throttle body with the gasket. Scrape the material traces of the old gasket from the mating surfaces of the throttle body and the pumping chamber inlet pipeline. |
7. Install in the reverse order. Be sure to replace the gasket. Finally, make adjustment of the throttle cable and Tempostat (see. Section Removal, installation and adjustment of a cable of an accelerator). Check the coolant level, if necessary, appropriate adjustment (see chap. Adjustment and routine maintenance). |
