Removing and installing bonnet latch and its actuating cable



Considered in this manual car models are equipped with additional safety (SRS). Before proceeding with any work near the airbag unit, steering column and instrument panel, disconnect SRS to avoid injury at its casual operation (see chap. Onboard electric equipment). Wiring of chain SRS is easy for distinguishing on yellow color of isolation.

If installed on the car stereo is equipped with a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!

Latch

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Circle the latch assembly marker or prescriber to guarantee the correctness of its installation in the assembly. Unhook the spring and use a screwdriver to release the tip of a cable lock is released from the latch assembly.

2. Install in the reverse order.

Adjust the latch so as to lock the hood securely in the closed position, - rubber pillows of support should be slightly flattened.

Bowden cable

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect the drive cable is released from the bonnet latch assembly.

2. In the passenger compartment, remove the three fixing screws and separate from the instrument panel bonnet release lever. Disconnect the cable from the lever.

3. Pull the cable assembly to the salon, gently pushing it through the grommet in the bulkhead.
4. Insert the tip of the new cable in the grommet in the bulkhead and retract assembly in the engine compartment of the wire through the bulkhead in the engine compartment, having held up his end of the bonnet latch.
5. The further assemblage is made in the reverse order of removal.
