Removal and installation of the main section of the instrument panel



PERFORMANCE ORDER

Considered in this manual car models are equipped with additional safety (SRS). Before proceeding with any work near the airbag unit, steering column and instrument panel, disconnect SRS to avoid injury at its casual operation (see chap. Onboard electric equipment). Wiring of chain SRS is easy for distinguishing on yellow color of isolation.

Removal Procedure dashboard is quite complex and its implementation would be correct by a qualified service center.

1. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.

If installed on the car stereo is equipped with a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action!

2. Remove the center console (see. Section Removal and installation of the central console).
3. Remove the section of the column cover (see. Section Removal and installation sections of the column cover).
4. Remove the trim for dashboard (see. Section Removal and installation of finishing sections dashboard).
5. Remove the instrument panel (see chap. Onboard electric equipment).
6. Remove the finishing section of the instrument panel (see. Section Removal and installation of finishing sections dashboard)
7. Remove the radio and the control panel functioning of a heater / air conditioner (see chap. System of cooling, heating and the Onboard electric equipment).

8. Remove the front scuff plates on both front doors. Cover plates are fixed by means of clamps and to separate them simply hook suitable tool.

9. Remove the trim panel of the windscreen pillars.

10. The assembly of the passenger airbag is attached to the rear of the instrument panel. Disconnect the appropriate wiring, remove the bolts bottom of the airbag module to the instrument panel reinforcement beam.

The bolts have heads of type TORX, sealed and given to / tightened with a special key.

11. Having hooked, remove the airflow vents, remove the windshield and located beneath the upper dashboard mounting bolts.

12. Release the other fixture and disconnect all supplied to the built-in panel controls wiring. Pull the panel back and remove it from the vehicle.

13. In the central part of the support bracket dashboard / console assembly, remove the body control module (BCM), - pre-label the entire decal to the module wiring. Remove as ECM (see chap. Engine management).

14. Take the top and bottom fasteners, remove the two vertical support bracket located in the central part of the reinforcement beam. Turn out fixing bolts and remove the reinforcement beams inner mounting fuse and release lever bonnet.

15. Lower the steering column by pushing it from the dashboard reinforcement beams (see. Section Removal and installation of the heat exchanger heater).
16. Mark and disconnect supplied to the amplifier beam instrument panel wiring. Remove the mounting bolts, tilt the beam and pull it out of the car (right end first).

17. Install in the reverse order.
