Changing grease in the front wheel hub and check bearing (only for rear-wheel drive cars)



1. play in the hub bearings, check every time you lift the front of the vehicle.
2. Turn the wheel and check for freedom of rotation backlash.
3. If the swing wheel vertical clearance is felt, check the bearings to replace the grease in the hub
4. Remove the wheel
5. Remove a support, take aside and fix.
6. Extract the hub cap (see photo).

8. Remove the nut and washer.
9. Apply the hub and push back, remove the outer bearing.
10. Remove the hub from the knuckle pins.
11. Pry the screwdriver and remove the gland (photo). Note the orientation of the hub in the gland.
12. Remove the internal bearing.
13. Rinse the hub bearings and grease, clean the pin.
14. Check the condition of the rollers and the outer race bearing hub. In case of damage on the outer race they need to drive out (performed at a workshop) and replace bearings.
15. Lay refractory greasing the bearings, carefully fill the space in the roller cage (photo).
16. Lubricate the bearings of the landing on the journal and bore under the gland.

17. Lay the lubrication of the bearing cage, plastered edge clips and creating a shoulder to save the grease inside the bearing.
18. Insert the lubricated inner bearing and apply grease on its outer part.
19. Press in the new oil seal.
20. Install the hub and put the external bearing.
21. Put the washer and tighten the nut to a torque of 3 Nm
22. Rotate the hub in both directions.
23. Believe torque and then turn the hub in both directions. Check the resistance of its turning point, which should be equal to 3 Nm
24. Tighten the nut to 45 ?�.
25. Wear a crown cap and zashplintuyte. If necessary, tighten the nut clockwise to the pin went into the grooves of the cap and a pin in the hole.
26. Fold the pin so that it does not touch the cap of the hub.

27. Fit the hub cap, making sure the safety of the sealing ring.
28. Put the wheel, tighten the nut and shaking, check the play in the bearings. Lower the car.
