Check the brakes

Disc brakes
3. Disc brakes are mounted on the front wheels.
4. Quickly check the residual thickness of the lining material on the brake pads can be through a window in the front brake caliper (photo). If the wear of at least one pad is greater than 0.8 mm, replace all four pads in the kit.
5. For a more detailed inspection of the brake pads can be removed and cleaned (Ch. 10).

9. If the drum again, can not be cleared, remove the plug on the board and bring the brake pads, provernuv screwdriver gear nut.

13. Check the condition of the springs.
14. Check for signs of leakage of brake fluid in the wheel cylinders, which gently pry and pull the outer cylinder seals (see photo). If a seal show up traces of brake fluid, the cylinder, replace.
15. Clean the drum with a cloth soaked in alcohol.
16. Check that the drums of deep development, cracks, fissures and painted areas. If the defects can not be removed with sandpaper, the drums must be removed and machined.
17. Install the brake drums.
18. Establish wheels and lower the car.
Hand brake
19. Hand brake should be adjusted if the brake lever 6-10 clicks and neutral car is not kept on the rise (Ch. 10).
