Check of level and a liquid condition in an automatic transmission




A warning

The car should be on a level surface.



PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Apply the parking brake and block the wheels to eliminate stops the car rolling.
2. Start up the engine before warming up of a transmission to temperature 60-70 ?� C.
3. With the engine running slowly move the selector lever from position "P" to "L", at the same time depress the brake pedal.
4. Move the selector lever to "P".
5. Check the fluid level, which should be between labels HOT (65 ?� C). If you want to add the required amount of liquid required.

Type ATF: DEXRON-II or M-II

A warning

Use measuring scale COOL (20 ?� C) only as a guide value.

Carefully check the condition of the fluid in an automatic transmission, and determine whether the automatic transmission should be dismantled.

If the fluid in an automatic transmission is contaminated and scorched, indicating burnt plates or brake bands.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check the color of the liquid in an automatic transmission.
2. Check the fluid in an automatic transmission on presence of unusual smells. To determine the change in color and smell of the liquid, compare it with fresh fluid.
