Check the brake system

In addition to the specified maintenance intervals of the brakes should be checked each time the wheel if there is suspicion of the occurrence of damage.
Common Symptoms are as follows:
- To pull to one side under heavy braking;
- Increased stopping distance;
- Strong squeal during braking;
- Brake fluid leaks, usually on the inside of the tire or wheel.
Loosen the wheel bolts.
Extend the jack or hoist.
Remove the bolts and remove the wheel.

Disc brakes
As practice shows, the front brake pads are worn on the passenger side intensified, and therefore it is necessary to check the brake pads on the right front wheel.
Loosen the screws of the right front wheel and apply the parking brake, then lift the front of the car and fix on supports. Remove the right front wheel.
The disc brake caliper installed in each of the two pads. Internal brake pads are visible through viewing windows in each caliper. The outer brake pads can be seen on the side of a support. Visually determine the thickness of the brake pads.
If it is difficult to visually determine the thickness of the brake pads or suspected in poor shoes, remove them for further examination. If the pad brake pads are worn down to a thickness of 1 mm, replace all four brake pads in the kit.
Micrometer, measure the thickness of the brake disc. If it is less than the maximum permissible, replace the drive. Check the condition of the brake disc for cracks and scoring.
Before installing the wheel, check the condition of the brake hoses and tubes.
Check the condition of the rotor sensor ABS. If damage is found to be removed for servicing unit hub / rotor.
Establish a wheel and lower the car.

Rear drum brakes
Place the vehicle on a firm level ground.
Put under the front wheel stops.
Loosen the bolts of the rear wheels, lift the rear of the car and fix on supports. Remove the rear wheels.
Remove the brake drums / rear wheel hub.

WARNINGS
When the brake pads the brake dust which contains asbestos, unhealthy, so when cleaning the brake pads do not use compressed air and do not inhale the dust.
To clean the brake, use only the special brake cleaner.

Calipers measure the thickness of the pads rear brake pads. If brake linings above the heads of the rivets of 1.0 mm, the brake pads are suitable for further use, otherwise replace all four brake pads in the kit. Brake pads should be replaced if the lining pads with cracks, "slicked" or contaminated brake fluid.
Check the condition of the return springs and retaining the rear brakes.
Remove the protective covers of working brake cylinders and check for leakage of brake fluid. If under the protective covers found brake fluid, replace the wheel cylinders.
Check the condition of the brake drums for cracks, scratches, deep grooves and burning. If the defects can not be removed, replace the brake drums.
Install the brake drums.
Establish wheels and lower the car.

Parking brake
Slowly apply the parking brake with a force of 10 kg, the arm should rise by 6-8 clicks. Otherwise, adjust the parking brake.
Place the vehicle on the road with a slope, lift the handbrake lever, the shift lever to the neutral position. If the vehicle is held securely with a parking brake, so it works properly and is correctly adjusted.

Vacuum brake booster
Vacuum brake booster reduces the force applied to the brake pedal, thereby facilitating control of the vehicle. The principle of operation of the vacuum brake booster is based on the use of the vacuum in the intake manifold. Failure of servo performance brake system is not broken, but the brake pedal must be pressed to make a much greater effort.
Click several times on the brake pedal when the engine to create in cavities of the vacuum amplifier the identical pressure close to atmospheric pressure. Simultaneously on the effort put to a pedal, define, whether jamming of the valve body. Stop the brake pedal in the middle of its course and start up the engine. At the serviceable vacuum amplifier the pedal after the engine has to move forward. If the pedal does not move, check the attachment of the tip of the hose connections in the mounting flange of the tip amplifier, a hose and nozzle.
