Check the power supply system
WARNINGS Gasoline is extremely flammable, so when working with elements of the power system is forbidden the use of fire, sparking devices open by fire-dangerous light devices and smoking. Avoid sparking when working with cables and electrical devices. Since gasoline - a carcinogen, it is necessary to exclude them from getting to the body and paint the car. Otherwise, you need to immediately wash it with soap and water. |
Fuel supply system is constantly under pressure, therefore before a detachment of pipelines remove pressure in the supply system. Immediately close all disconnected fuel lines to prevent leakage of fuel from the fuel tank.

Serve the food system more convenient by car, raised on a lift, as the bottom of the car, all systems are clearly visible and accessible (Fig. 2.13). If there is a smell of gasoline, immediately check the power supply system. Open the filler cap and check it for damage and corrosion. Cover gasket must be flexible and not be damaged, otherwise replace it. Inspect supply and return fuel hoses for cracks or damage. If damaged, replace them. To inspect the fuel tank and attached fuel tubes Lift up the vehicle. Pay particular attention to hose connecting the fuel tank and the filler neck.
A WARNING Under no circumstances should you repair the tank yourself. When using the torch of any open flame or fuel vapor accumulated in the tank may explode. |
Replacement of the fuel filter The power supply system is sensitive to contamination of the fuel, so it passes through a special fuel filter. Suspended particles of dirt in the fuel can get from the newly filled tank at a gas station. The fuel filter is located on the left side of the engine compartment. It is a consumable, disposable type of details, it should be replaced in accordance with the intervals. Place a cloth or paper under the fuel filter to catch escaping when disconnecting fuel hose. Mark the location of the hoses and the fuel outlet of the fuel filter, loosen the clamps and disconnect the hoses from the filter. The arrow mark the direction of flow of the filter and remove the filter from the holder. Install the new filter arrow pointing in the correct direction, then connect the hoses and fix their collars.
Check and adjust the accelerator cable Cable accelerator (throttle) must be periodically checked and adjusted to ensure its normal operation. Measure the total length of the cable to ensure that it is sufficient to adjust. At normal engine operating temperature, make sure that the carburetor choke valve is fully open.

Measure a free wheeling of a cable from the carburetor, and adjust it if necessary. If the free play exceeds 3 mm, adjust it by turning the nut 1 (Fig. 2.14) fixing the cable to the bracket shell.
Check tightening torques of nuts carburetor The carburetor is secured by four bolts to the upper portion of the inlet manifold. Tightening the screws may loosen from vibration and high temperature, which may cause leakage and air leaks. If there is a suspicion that the bottom of the carburetor sucked air, take a long hose with a diameter equal to the diameter of the fuel hose. Start up the engine and attach one end of the hose to your ear, the other end inspect the area around the base of the carburetor. If there are air leaks, you will hear a hissing sound. Remove the air filter and the adhesive tape, label each detachable hose to facilitate subsequent installation. Determine what special tools or adapters required for tightening nuts carburetor. Manufacturers do not indicate torques nuts carburetor. Firmly and evenly tighten the nuts. Do not over tighten them, because you can strip the threads. If, after tightening the screws air leak continues, you need to remove the carburetor and install the new gasket. After tightening the nuts, reinstall the carburetor air filter housing and reconnect all hoses.
