Check seals and protective covers of hinges of equal angular velocity drive shafts
Lift the front of the car and secure on stands. Check the seals of drive shafts placed at the exit point of the drive shaft gearbox housing. If there are traces of oil flowing from the compounds of the drive shaft / gear box, drive shaft seal should be replaced. Protective covers constant velocity joints (CV joints) perform a very important role in preventing the ingress of water and dirt CV joints. Contact with a protective cover of a fuel or lubricant can lead to their destruction, so it is advisable to wash them with soap and water. Lift up the vehicle, hung out the front wheels. Turn the steering wheel to the right or to the left until it stops and turn the wheel. Examine rubber protective covers of hinges of equal angular speeds, compressing them for disclosing of bends. Inspect for cracks which can lead to leakage of grease, the ingress of water and dirt. Check the condition of fixing collars, inspect the covers of internal hinges and casings on the other side. Damaged protective cover should be replaced immediately.
