Exhaust system - general information

To service the exhaust system should begin only after the cooling of its components. Track reliability of fixing the car in the raised position.

The composition of the exhaust system of all considered in this Guide models including flexible section, is extremely sensitive to strong excesses - Be careful when servicing the system.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The exhaust system consists of exhaust manifold, front exhaust pipe, catalytic converter, muffler, exhaust pipe, connecting pipe sections, pipe straps, as well as support brackets and rubber loops by which assembly is suspended from the bottom of the car. Improper installation of the components and sections of the system leads to an increase in noise and vibration transmitted to the vehicle body.
2. Inspect the entire system for signs of corrosion, deformation and mechanical damage. Check tightness of fasteners. Leakage of the components and their joints is fraught with hit of exhaust gas into the car. Defective components must be replaced and sections.
3. If a strong damage of corrosion for undocking of its sections may require cutting torch (alternatively, you can use hacksaw or pneumatic chisel - do not forget to wear safety goggles and gloves).
4. The system must be repaired as follows:

a) If the removal of components move along the path of the direction from the exhaust pipe to the engine;
b) subject to the give preliminary grease fittings penetrating oil;
c) In advance, prepare necessary replaceable pads, suspension hinges, clamps and fasteners;
d) Prior to installation of the fasteners antiprihvatyvayuschim smazhterezbovuyu sealant;
e) When installing the components, make sure that between the sections of the system and surrounding components suspension / body remained sufficient clearance. Pay particular attention to proper installation and secure attachment thermofilter catalytic converter. Remember that when the catalytic converter is heated to very high temperatures and then cools rather slowly, take your time and wait for complete cooling components;
f) Before servicing the system, always remove it from the oxygen sensor wiring connector.
