Removal and installation of final collectors



Proceed to perform the procedure only after the final cooling of the power unit.

REMOVAL

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.

If installed on the car stereo is equipped with a security code before to disconnect the battery make sure that have a correct combination for audiosystem input in action! Poddomkratte car and establish it on props.

2. Soak fasteners penetrating oil reservoirs.
3. Working under the car, disconnect the exhaust manifolds Y-shaped exhaust pipe ("trousers") exhaust system (see chap. The power supply system and release).


Front collector (by the sink)

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the throttle body assembly receiving the duct with the upper half of the air cleaner housing (see chap. The power supply system and release).
2. Disconnect the socket from the exhaust manifold EGR.

3. In order to ensure access to the reservoir, remove the fasteners bracket guide tube probe level measurement of motor oil. Give the top row of fastening nuts.

4. Moving from the edges to the center, give the lower row of fasteners and remove the manifold from the engine.


Rear collector (from the engine compartment bulkhead)

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Working under the car, give fixing nuts and remove a collector.

INSTALLATION

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Carefully inspect the headers and their fastening elements, checking the components for cracks, deformation and other mechanical damage.
2. Scrape carbon deposits and traces of the old gasket material from the mating surfaces of the cylinder heads and manifolds. If you have a leak exhaust vote flatness of mating surfaces of the reservoir (use installed on the edge of a steel ruler and feeler blade type). Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications, in case of need to give collectors a groove.
3. Put a new gasket on the studs collectors.
4. Install the collectors and screw nuts of attachment.
5. Moving from the center out, in three or four phases evenly tighten fixture with demanded effort.
6. Install the remaining components is made in the reverse order of their removal. Be sure to replace the gaskets when connecting front exhaust pipe exhaust system to the front manifold.
7. Start the engine and check for any signs of leakage of exhaust gases.
